Episode Description: In today's episode, we're looking at the book of Psalms to understand how it connects us with God: mind, body, soul, and spirit. Addressing the question of Bible relevance amid deconstruction, we’ll cover what growing in emotional intelligence looks like when reading through Psalms, its relatability, and its applicability to the experiences in our lives. We’ll discover the interconnectedness of the Bible, find comfort in Psalms during life's challenges, and seek growth through understanding.
Verses and quotes to consider:
It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it's the parts that I do understand. (Mark Twain)
Psalms 4:4-5 Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord.
Psalms 13:1-2 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Episode Description: Join me on Through the Bible Podcast for a transformative journey through Proverbs, where we’ll look at its profound wisdom on building better habits. In this episode, we explore the impact of habits and discover its unique ability to challenge and refine our character, habits, and daily routines. Building better habits often comes with challenges and self-doubt. To break the cycle, I also present a 31-day challenge: read one chapter from Proverbs daily, starting today, without waiting for the "perfect" moment. I also give some tips on what to do when you feel bad for missing a day or two. Along with the challenge, we’ll look at other habits in our lives and how to go about building them (with help from Proverbs). Drawing on her personal experience of transitioning from a rigid Bible reading plan to a more reflective and meditative approach, we’ll emphasizes the importance of allowing the Word to become flesh in our lives. Spend some time reading and meditating on Proverbs 4, specifically verses 4-9:
(4) he taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.
