    Birthdays and growing older really gets a bad reputation. When we’re kids birthdays are exciting and we take each new age on with pride. That seems to slow down as we get older and we desperately try to hold on to our younger years. In reality, growing older is a huge blessing. Each year is another opportunity to grow and create the life you want. Like the late great Nipsey Hussle said “Every 12 months you live another year you ball”. This episode is a reflection on everything I’ve learned and experienced up until this point, and how it’s shaped the woman I am today.

    A question I’ve been faced with a lot lately is “When did you stop trusting yourself?”. As crazy as it may sound, many people including myself struggle with fearlessly trusting their intuition. We are quick to give our decision making power over to the next person, or a google search, or any other outside source. Anything to take the responsibility off of our shoulders. What we fail to realize is that with that responsibility comes tremendous power...power to create your reality and be a true alchemist of your life. I believe that there’s no better time than now for us as a collective to take steps toward silencing that inner critic, and amplifying our intuition, trusting that it will never steer your wrong.

    Episode 09: Planting the Seed & Cultivating Change

Having a sense of community is something that has been lost in our individualistic society. A’Kia and Alex Walker are great examples of community leaders and mentors that use their knowledge and experience to inspire others. Through their fitness endeavor Power Belly Fitness and community program Stanco Youth Empowerment Program they provide education and resources to aid in empowering the people. Being the light to lead the way for those coming after you is what the world needs more of, and it starts in the community. It truly does take a village!
