This is teaching with Learning in Mind, the podcast for anyone in the business of teaching in higher education. This podcast consists of seven episodes hosted by myself and a few guests. Episode 7: Self-Directed Learning

Today we talk about how to foster self-directed learning behaviours in your students and how that affects student learning. In this episode, I draw from a publication by AOSIS, Directed Learning for the 21st Century: Implications for Higher Education. AOSIS maximises the opportunities for Higher Education Institutions in South Africa to support research and development through publishing scholarly books in all scientific fields. I refer to various models of self-directed learning, as mentioned in Chapter 1, and concepts discussed in Chapters 2 and 3 in this podcast.
