San Jose Sharks @ Edmonton Oilers - 4/15/2024 - Teal Town USA After Dark (Postgame)
Oh the humanity, or in this case the dead shark carcass on the ice because we witnessed the Oilers curb stomping the Sharks this evening. At this point I just felt bad for recent call ups Thompson and Gushchin, even with Danil’s goal the Sharks would barely register a blip on Edmonton’s radar. McDavid etched his name in hockey lore scoring his 100th assist and with Edmonton’s resounding win it keeps a Pacific Division title alive for the Oil. Cooley and Romanov would both be left hung out to dry by a porous defense, thankfully it ended and only one game left in this horrid season. Landi does his best to hold it together while Ian holds the show a float on this edition of Teal Town After Dark.

Sharks go almost the entire 3rd period without a shot during an overtime loss against the Flames. Devin Cooley saves 49 of 50 in first victory for the Sharks in Seattle. Kirill Kaprizov with a 3 point night and no tacos for Sharks fans against the Wild.

San Jose Sharks vs Minnesota Wild - 4/11/2024 - Teal Town USA After Dark (Postgame)
Well the Sharks have played their final game of the season at SAP center, closing out another disappointing campaign. The silver lining to the latest loss of the season is that the team has secured the best odds of selecting first overall in the upcoming draft. The Sharks would manage to score 2 goals, each coming from the much-maligned blue line. Both Mario Ferraro and Jun Rutta would score from the point on similar type plays. The Lund line continues to show off its chemistry and we can only hope that it remains together for the last 2 games. Landi and Dana would breakdown this game and be joined by to furry special guests on this edition of Teal Town After Dark.

Has the Devin Cooley Era begun in Teal Town? Well for one game it certainly has, after stoping 49 incoming pucks he would allow only one goal good for a .980 SAVE PCT. William Eklund would have 2 assists and Zetterlund would add to his impressive 20+ goal campaign. With the young Sharks on display we can start to a little light at the end of the tunnel. Landi and Jules would break this one down and talk a little prospect action too!

Gilroy's Dustin Wolf and the Calgary Flames persevere a 2-0 deficit to beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in overtime. For San Jose, goals from William Eklund and Jacob MacDonald weren't enough despite Mackenzie Blackwood's 38 save performance. Erik Kuhre and Ian Reid discuss a good effort, close to clinching tragically, and the crazy playoff race.

It takes the Kraken 29 seconds to take a lead they never let go off in San Jose. 2 quick goals is all the Kings need to beat the Sharks for the 3rd time this season. Eklund scores all the goals in a OT win vs the Blues. Arizona and San Jose respectively battle for a second straight win.

When The Athletic dropped their sharks coverage I went looking for an alternate regular source and this is it! The perfect mix of knowledge, fandom, and accessibility.
Favorite Sharks & Barracuda Podcast and NO ADS
Never was a podcast guy until last season, and this changed that for me. Let me start off by saying the people at TealTownUSA should be lauded for not selling their souls to force ads of pubic hair trimmers, and crap protein bars down our ear canals. I have come to love the colorful cast of men and women who share the same joy, passion, anger, and frustration for our beloved Los tiburones.
Being a Hockey fan in San Jose where I was born, raised, and reside has always been the most isolating fandom at times with friends, coworkers, and neighbors always talking 49ers, Giants, Warriors. I don’t care for any sport other than Hockey. Bunch of bandwagon fans around here with surface level knowledge of my Sharks - so discovering this podcast even during this rough time to be a fan has been therapeutic.
AJ, Puck Guy, Hockey Jerk, Ian Reid, Erik Landi, Dana, Kevin Lacey, and newly added Jules (JUELLE) all bring in their own unique perspectives, takes, and knowledge as these are equally passionate, and educated fans of The Sharks, Barracuda, and Hockey in general. Something that’s always lacked in my life compared to “Hey is Thornton and Burns still on the team” from the casual fans I’m surrounded by lol
The depth of knowledge presented, each persons perspective, and their interactions with the Youtube comments within the community are always a treat. The format is organized with room to rant, and have it flow naturally which I love. Different personalities, and perspectives keep things fresh, and everyone brings a different depth of knowledge. I’ve loved that the Barracuda are always touched on, and that any big hockey related news is immediately touched on.
To put it simply, I’ve loved feeling welcomed, and part of this community. These guys put in more work than a lot of other comparable podcasts. This podcast make me feel like I’m having a beer (or Diet Pepsi) with friends as we discuss all things Sharks, Cuda, and Hockey. That’s what makes it special. When TealTownUSA does good, it’s good!
