When the Cloud Burst

A terabyte of bliss I had stored In your shimmering digital cloud Photos, videos, all tokens adored Nest egg of my joys long and loud But the warning signs were ignored As storage filled beyond allowed My archives couldn't be restored When your servers crashed, all files rowed So much cherished coding, all words Erased by technological lapse Priceless projects, memories remade Reversion rendered my back up scraps Online existences we unload Onto servers that could overload My dearest captures drown, data deflated When the cloud that held my whole life burst Get full access to Tech Poems at techpoems.substack.com/subscribe

Pinging calls to divert my gaze Pull me in a thousand craze Buzzes, chimes, can't resist Dropping all I'm supposed to list The scroll, a siren's sweet caress My focus rudely second-guessed Infinity pools of image streams Drown my days in bright lit dreams But when I burst from virtual deep How much of myself have I let seep?
