Call of Cthulhu - The Pacific Sailing School for Young Men Part 1

Call of Cthulhu - The Pacific Sailing School for Young Men Part 1

This episode and the second part deal with some very heavy themes, including child abuse (both physical and mental), child endangerment, bullying, homophobia, animal cruelty, and sexual themes, and that's before the mythos shows up. Listener Discretion is advised.

It is 1961. In a time of great upheaval in the US and the world, a pair of teens in California are being forced to attend a summer school. This unique school has boys do college prep while they learn about boating, sailing a yacht from California to Baja California, then to Hawaii, then back. Our two protagonists are an obscenely wealthy JD and a quiet theater kid with something to hide. As they develop a tenuous friendship, they start to realize the two professors running this school have a cruel streak, and it's going to take their friendship and their skills to survive...

If you want to read along when it pops up, luckily The Kraken by Alfred, Lord Tennyson is in the public domain and is freely available online.

Reign - Nagalisitu - Agents of ALIS - Part 17

Reign - Nagalisitu - Agents of ALIS - Part 17

This campaign will touch on many themes, including slavery, racism, specism, harm to children, and mental health issues, among others. Listener discretion is advised.

Having picked up the writers, the crew has to head back to Nagalisitu. However, before they can leave Roscoe and Kai are confronted with a lead on the pirate they hate. And, even when they make it back, how has Nagalisitu changed since they've been gone...?

Agents of ALIS is based on the campaign framework Nagalisitu by Caleb Stokes, for Reign second edition by Greg Stolze. Reign 2E has been released in pdf and is available at Atomic Overmind, while the book with the information on Nagalisitu has not been released as of posting. We are using a Kickstarter backer version of those rules.

Jared - Captain Kai Uhila - The human captain of the Hypatia. Kai is a bard as is the nature of those who helm the ships that travel the galaxy. A bit of a drunk, a bit of a lech, a bit of a loose cannon, but someone with a strong sense of justice.

Laura - Tema Miles - A humanish logistics & security expert on the Hypatia. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and will rip yours out of your chest if you cross her, the ship, or her young ward Libby.

Good stories, interesting content

I got into listening to Tech Diff by way of RPPR. These are a good group of people telling interesting stories. They run long campaigns and one shots, and discuss things about the industry. I like that they try out new systems, and also still produce content for ones that are well established and provide solid frameworks for storytelling.

Easy Listening

I do graphic design work by trade and I need some noise in the background. This podcast is great for that because it's just the right amount of engaging without being overwhelming and making it difficult to think. Absolutely recommend it.

They also play games that aren't Dungeons and Dragons so that's an automatic bonus star from me.

Variety of games, variety of tones.

A great actual play podcast full of great people. A good variety of games, ranging from serious horror to yakety sax.
