Episode 243 - Ion Said That

Technically PVP Show Notes Episode 243 - Ion Said That Ion said… "At a high level, we want to serve our PvP community better, but we also need to grow the PvP community in order to justify that, frankly. You know, I think the story of PvP in WoW has been a very passionate core of players that, you know, 20 years ago was larger. The number of people who jumped into battlegrounds, into more casual modes of PvP as a percentage of the overall player base, was much larger back then than it is today. Today, PvP in, you know, particularly in rated forms, can feel very intimidating and can feel hard to get into in terms of the knowledge gap, the gear gap. There's a lot of barriers to entry. And so our focus, with things like training grounds, has been trying to get new people into PvP, trying to build that foundation—like the bottom of the pyramid—so that we can make the whole thing higher and stronger. That's not going to be a process that happens overnight, and I recognize that for players that are focused primarily on that high end of the competitive ecosystem, it can sometimes feel like we're not doing enough. But in the long run, I think for PvP to get the support that we want to give it, we all need to work together to grow that community. And so I think, as we discuss this further, as we get feedback from the community, I'd love to hear ideas and to think together about not just what we can do today to make PvP better for the gladiator-level player, but what we can do to make it easier for people who haven't PvPed seriously in WoW—but love PvP in other games—to get into WoW's PvP." https://www.wowhead.com/news/game-informer-interview-with-ion-hazzikostas-augmentation-evoker-on-damage-382260   Finding Us Podcast Cohosts Technically - https://twitter.com/Technically_PvP  https://bsky.app/profile/technicallypvp.bsky.social https://www.twitch.tv/technically_pvp https://sites.libsyn.com/612975/site https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjIUqJEbWz9Rr9lIFZBe1Mw  https://discord.gg/w7WZ9ab Technicallypvp@gmail.com https://www.patreon.com/cw/TechnicallyPVPPodcast6 Bigmoran - https://twitter.com/BigmoranIRL TreesapJake - https://twitter.com/TreesapJake  https://www.youtube.com/TreesapJake  Skill-Capped Affiliate Link- https://www.skill-capped.com/wow/pricing/plans#technicallypvp
