Your Life Isn't Chaotic. It's Badly Designed. | Wednesday Rich

What if your hardest hour isn't a discipline problem, but a design problem? Julia Peter spent more than 15 years designing technology at Sony, Google and Meta AI and now her AI company in the creator economy. In product design, when people keep struggling at the same moment, you don't blame the user. You look at the design. In this episode, she uses a classic product tool, the user journey map, on her own family's evening: kids home, dinner on the stove, and her first US call starting at the same time. You'll learn: • How a user journey map works: what happens, how it feels, and where it breaks • Why you should ask why three times before fixing anything • The three small fixes Julia is testing for one week, including how an AI agent handles her meal planning (AI handles the busywork, she makes the call) • What Wednesday Rich means: designing ordinary days that feel like they belong to you Your 10-minute assignment: pick one part of your day that keeps going wrong. Write each step, give each one a word for how it feels, find the lowest point, ask why three times, and test one small fix for a week. Next week: Julia's dinner-hour scores, which fixes survived, and the next tool. Is Your Coffee Really Costing You $95K? I Put My Spending on Trial

Is your daily coffee, energy drink or little treat secretly costing you $95,000? I gave AI three months of my family's real spending and put our everyday purchases on trial. The result: 62 small purchases, about $6 a day, $2,200 a year, and potentially $95,000 over 20 years if that money were invested instead. But I don't think the coffee is guilty. In this episode of Wednesday Rich: - What 290 real household purchases revealed - The one-question test for any small purchase - Why subscriptions deserve a two-minute audit - Why vacation is never on trial in my money system - The Skip Log: a 10-second AI habit to track money you choose not to spend, and turn it into long-term wealth TRY THE SKIP LOG (copy into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini): You are my Skip Log. Whenever I tell you I skipped a purchase, record the date, item and amount, and keep a running monthly total. When I say "month end," show every entry, verify the total, and remind me to move that money into savings or investing. Show what that monthly amount could grow to over 10 and 20 years at assumed annual returns of 4% and 7%. These are illustrations, not predictions. Then start a new month. I Gave AI My Finances. Here's What It Found. | Wednesday Rich

AI gets money questions wrong 57% of the time. I gave it my finances anyway. What would have taken me a week took one hour. Family and business. It found tax savings I was leaving on the table, a beneficiary I had never added to an account, and money sitting in the wrong places. In this episode: - What my AI "Wealth OS" actually found - The OpenAI agents that got caught cheating, and why it matters for your money - The one prompt that makes AI show its work - My Read / Draft / Do rule for what AI can and can't touch I'm Julia Peter. I designed products at Sony, Google, and Meta, and now I run an AI company from Switzerland. Wednesday Rich is my series on building more freedom into everyday life, one real experiment at a time. Small Decisions Build Your Life. Here’s What I’m Building Next

Ten years ago, I wanted the life I have now. Not every detail of it, but the freedom, the work, the family, the ability to build something of my own, and the chance to live somewhere beautiful. None of that happened all at once. It came from small decisions compounding over time. In this episode of Technically Sweet, I’m talking about what I’m intentionally compounding now: career, AI skills, income, investments, fitness, creativity, and the next version of my life. AI can help us move faster. It can help us learn, create, build, organize, and make better use of our time. But it can’t decide what direction is worth going in. That part is still ours. I share how I think about compounding across different areas of life, why the habits that feel small today can shape where you end up years from now, and how I’m using AI as leverage without outsourcing my judgment. I also talk about what “designing your life” actually means to me now, after years in Big Tech, building my own company, becoming a mother, and moving to Switzerland. The practical exercise from this episode is simple: Ask your AI assistant to help you identify what you’re already compounding, what may be working against you, and which three areas could create the biggest positive change over the next year. Then pick one small action you can repeat consistently. Because the next version of your life is probably being built by things that look very small right now. Technically Sweet is about AI, entrepreneurship, creativity, life design, and staying human as technology gets more powerful. Hosted by Julia Peter. Question for you: What are you compounding right now?
