I walk through the stage of the pig butchering scam where the fake trading dashboard shows incredible returns, the relationship feels real, and the only mistake seems to be not investing more. That’s the moment trust turns into urgency, and urgency turns into bigger transfers from savings, retirement accounts, and even loans. Then the trap snaps shut at withdrawal. I explain the fake fee ladder that shows up right when you try to take money out: taxes, security verification, anti-money laundering deposits, processing charges, and one more requirement after another. We talk about the psychology that keeps victims paying, including FOMO, confirmation bias, the commitment effect, and the sunk cost fallacy, plus why warning signs are so easy to “explain away” when months of manufactured proof sit in front of you.
