This is the place where we get to explore what it looks like to live the life we’d Rather Be Living. We’re going to dive into all the ways we get to Create our lives outside of the falling systems that have kept us enslaved to this idea that we’re just here to make money to spend money and merely exist. You know all those boxes we’re told to check that don’t actually add up to “health and happiness”? We’re here to call them out and explore what it looks like to disregard the “shoulds” and forge our own path.

It’s OK to Have S****y Days - Episode 38, Tenaciously Being

I’ve had to listen to this episode 3 times before mustering up the courage to post it. It’s different. It’s unpolished. It’s more “raw” than what I’ve recorded so far… and I’m ok with it (now). This is the evolution in human consciousness. We’re doing it. With every action we take, with every thought we become aware of, with every behavior we choose to walk away from… we’re evolving. Our human avatar is doing it perfectly, despite the obstacles and moments when we believe it can’t possibly be “right”. To BE in this world is a challenge enough given the thoughts, beliefs and programs we’ve collected along the way. We hold ourselves back and mute the pieces of our Spirit that long to participate. Part of my evolution is recognizing that I don’t have to do that anymore. It seems simple, and perhaps trivial or selfish to focus on this realization. I tend to shy away from speaking about it because I don’t know where it leads. I don’t know how it lands with you. The unknown is also part of it, though. This is new territory for humans… certainly new territory for me. I’ve had to tap into parts of my Soul that aren’t comfortable, that don’t look “normal” or aren’t easily explained with words in order to navigate this time. If I’m overwhelmed and confused by this new state of being, I have to believe that you are too. No one has actually done this part before, we’re all navigating it for the first time… None of us knows what we’re doing! This podcast is my way of offering a glimpse into my chaos in an effort to show you that it’s ok if it doesn’t look like you think it’s supposed to. If I’m spending all my (very limited) time trying to polish myself before speaking up, you’ll never hear from me again. I’m not a polished person, so I’m going to stop trying to polish this podcast. I’m grateful that you’ve followed along 🙏. TDS - A Second (First?) Take on the Syndrome I Used to Suffer From - Episode 36, Tenaciously Being

This episode was recorded back in August, 2023 when I was really fired up about TDS because it was in my face. I see it in my friend groups, on social media, and unfortunately in my daily life. It bugs me still (this episode is published in April, 2024), but I’m not quite as fired up about it these days as I was when I recorded this episode. It’s not easy to talk about this because I’m not a supporter of Trump - I’m not a supporter of any politics at this point. It’s difficult to call out a syndrome that I’ve suffered from (and probably still do occasionally) especially when it comes to this particular character of the movie. The awareness of how jaded our opinions can become from subtle influences is alarming to me. All it took was a few bad headlines that touched some very sensitive subjects (womanizing, orange hair, bumbling madman that he is) for an entire population of voters to choose the opposing side when it came to the polls. These types of decisions can be catastrophic on a grand scale if not considered thoroughly, and I believe that the blind hatred of a single man has discouraged a large piece of our population from the consideration due. It’s a sad state of affairs, and I’m ashamed to admit that I participated as long as I did. I also believe that in order to make lasting change, one must also see the dark/evil/deception they are walking away from… so this episode must be published and these thoughts must be shared. So be it. I hope this episode, in addition to episode 35 (more current and grounded thoughts on TDS) bring an awareness to the subtle deception we are all victims of. I hope you will be able to see it in your own life and be able to choose a different path for lasting change. A Lovely Conversation with Stephanie Hartz - Episode 34, Tenaciously Being

Hopefully you can find it in your heart to work with me as I learn how to be more of a listener and not talk all over my guests 😆. This is a lovely conversation between myself and a dear friend of about 15 years. We’ve always pushed each other’s boundaries when it comes to how we think about life - the shoulds, needs, opportunities, and pitfalls. This episode is a shining example of how even through disagreements, we can still care deeply about each other’s well being and be friends. We can still have a lovely conversation, feel heard, and stand in our own truths. We talk about the Health Care System - both agreeing that it’s broken but disagreeing on what the future holds for it. We talk about how important TRUST is in all decisions being made - how we each trust different sources and that’s perfectly fine. We talk about how privilege plays a part in both of the above. We talk about “alternative” ways and more “traditional” ways of coping with symptoms and aging with grace (or not). One of the (many) times that I run off on a tangent and discuss detox opportunities (link below). And then finally we talk about cancer - this is where you might shed a tear because even through all the differences we clearly care about this life and each other. Thanks for listening! Why Are We All So Sick? My Answer - Episode 32, Tenaciously Being

Well, I did it… I pushed record and laid it out there. I’ve been hesitant to record this episode because my answer is very much NOT the answer you might want to hear. I decided to go for it anyway because it has been the topic of real conversation at least once a week amongst my friends and peers. Whether I overhear the comments or they are directly asking me what to do about XYZ sickness or “bug they just can’t kick”, I’m seeing the theme arise. And this is not to say that we don’t get sick. We do. As a matter of fact, our entire household has been suffering from congestion for a week or so… we’ve had to pick kids up early and miss days of school for puffy eyes and stuffy noses. There are many allergens in the air this time of year, but it’s honestly difficult to decipher “sickness” from “allergies” when it comes to these symptoms. Which aligns perfectly with what I’m saying in this episode - essentially, we’ve been led to believe there’s a microscopic “bug” that is causing all the discomfort, and I’m calling b******t. It’s not an uneducated call either, I’ve spent countless hours listening and experimenting with my own Self, not to mention the countless hours of listening to research and the actual science going on. So much of what we’ve been told is based on fraudulent science and profit-driven manipulation of statistics. It’s not difficult to find, if you’re willing to look. And the most impressive part of this HUGE paradigm shift I’m offering is the FREEDOM it provides. How would it feel to not be “forced” to do something to your body that didn’t seem quite right? How many times have you left a doctor’s office more confused and stressed about the financial obligation “the cure” is asking for? How much time and effort is wasted driving to and from doctor’s appointments that leave you feeling more like a number than a patient? There is a massive opportunity to free yourself from this racket of a system, and it begins with this understanding. The entire Medical System - Healthcare, Insurance, Education - has been built on lies. Does that mean it doesn’t help people? NO! I’ve been “saved by modern medicine” more times than I like to admit. I also don’t think that the individuals who practice in the system are all bad, or out to get us. The system is lying to us, and it’s important to recognize this truth in order to build the next iteration from a more informed and helpful place. There is so much more to say on this subject, so I’m sure it will come up plenty. If you’re interested in being a guest on the show please email tenaciouslybeing@gmail.com. I’m looking for people willing to have open, honest, non-confrontational conversations about how we’re living life and how they might be striving to BE in the world. If this is you, let’s connect! I Don’t Know What the F*$k I’m Doing… Do You? - Episode 31, Tenaciously Being

Welcome to the return of Tenaciously Being - Episode 31, Season 3. I took a deliberate break from recording at the beginning of the year, and it feels good to be back! I had lots of plans for promoting and growing TB over the break and absolutely NONE of them came to fruition. Ha! Such is life I suppose… I’ve decided to continue on as we began, weekly posts where podcasts are found. Once again, I have intentions of showing up in the places that build community. Perhaps, this time, I have a little more tenacity because I gave myself a break? It would be fitting… In this episode I talk about more than my break and the direction of the podcast, I promise. I get into all the ways we’re inundated with information and how our Nervous System isn’t regulated to be able to receive so much. I talk about how conditioned we are to accept stress as a way of life, and how little we realize its impact on our ability to Create. I truly believe that we are in the stage of evolution that is similar to the goo that a caterpillar must turn into before becoming a butterfly. It’s awkward, destructive, unfamiliar, dark, and kinda scary. We’re mostly discouraged from thinking for ourselves and therefore intimidated when it comes to tuning out all the noise and trying to listen to our True Self. It’s a conundrum, to say the least. And I’m here for it. Thank you for being here for it too. Whether you remember yet or not, we knew what we were getting into and we’re prepared once we recognize the magic of the metamorphosis. I promise I don’t talk about butterflies the whole time 😆 Follow Tenaciously Being on Social: http://instagram.com/tenaciouslybeing Follow Rather and all things Art: http://ratherbecreative.com http://instagram.com/ratherbecreative http://facebook.com/ratherbecreative
