Finally, Pharaoh relents and allows the Israelites to depart from slavery in Egypt. They will soon discover that the road to freedom is going to be difficult, but they can trust a God that has a plan even when their situation seems impossible.

Today we read a dramatic and climactic battle of wills when Moses appears before Pharaoh to demand the release of the Hebrew slaves. Pharaoh doesn't recognize God's authority; he stubbornly refuses to surrender.
