    TotalCultDocFest continues as me and Mark Plant from 100 things we learned form film talk about Football in Greenland. It's a funny old game! No Place for Football is a feature documentary that explores perseverance, identity, and the unifying power of sport in one of the most remote regions on Earth. Set along the Arctic Circle, the film follows Nuuk-based football club, B67, as they navigate a series of obstacles as they travel north to compete in Greenland’s uniquely brief football season.  With unprecedented access, the film captures the team’s journey to Ilulissat, as they pursue the title of national champions, while contending with fierce rivals, overcoming physical hardship, and the weight of representing their community. Through intimate storytelling and Greenland’s backdrop of striking visuals, No Place for Football offers a rare glimpse into life in Greenland, where the world’s most popular sport isn’t just a game, it’s the cultural heartbeat of the world’s largest island. ­Crossing above the Arctic Circle, the people of Greenland live a life unfamiliar to the rest of the world. It’s a place where the grass of a football pitch finds the temperatures too cold to grow, roads aren’t a means of transportation from one town to the next, and looming icebergs offer a subtle reminder that winter isn’t just around the corner; it never left. No Place for Football is an intimate look at one team’s experience during the world’s shortest season (one week) as they battle the elements en route to the host city, the struggle to maintain healthy players in harsh environments and the pressures of returning home victorious. Led by captain Patrick Frederiksen and head coach Nicolai Nielsen, club B67 from Nuuk travels north to the host town of Ilulissat, with the dream of becoming National Champions. But if the boys from Nuuk are to be successful, they’ll have to overcome a series of obstacles along the way, including a showdown with their bitter rival and hometown club, N48.     This week I'm joined by Philip Bedwell (he's never been in neighbours or Home and away) to talk about a few things, First his new role in BFI short Choke hold, then about fun fake fighting in films, Depressing realities of the real life fight world and eventually we stumble into Russell Crowe's new MMA movie Beast. It gets real spoilery real fast, so turn off when the trailer kicks in if you really don't want to know what happens... although to be honest, the trailer shows you most of what happens. Directed by Tyler Atkins (Bosch, Rockit), Beast stars Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind), Daniel MacPherson (Foundation, Land of Bad) & Luke Hemsworth (The Witcher, WestWorld). Other stars of the film include Bren Foster, George Burgess, Mojean Aria, Kelly Gale, Amy Shark and Saphira Moran. The film was co-written by David Frigerio (Land of Bad) & Russell Crowe, marking Crowe's second writing credit, following Poker Face in 2022. Beast follows ex-con Patton James (Daniel MacPherson), who abandoned his mixed martial arts dream to support his wife, Luciana (Kelly Gale), and daughter. When Patton’s brother Malon suffers a serious injury in a fi ght to make good on his debts, Patton has to risk everything to get back in the ring to avenge him. But to reclaim his old glory and succeed in the ONE Championship, Patton must regain the trust of his ace trainer (Russell Crowe) and keep his own family together. LINKS!     Nona and me once again review a movie where the poster features an open mouthed lady... it's a trend it seems, as is opening the film with "based on a true story" which we go into why that's not actually as smart as film makers think it is, especially when dealing with cults. Yeah! a cult film in the Total Cult Zone, one with a dead dog that's not a dead dog, an evil witch and some of the poorest decisions ever made by characters in a film. The Australian-produced supernatural horror, directed by Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken), comes to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital. The film stars Elizabeth Cullen (Evil Dead Wrath), John Kim (The Little Things), Mia Challis (Clickbait) and Terence Crawford (The Babadook). After suffering terrifying blackouts, a young woman returns to the religious compound where she was raised. As she unravels the dark secrets of her past, an ancient ritual unleashes the vengeful spirit of a cursed witch. What better way to start off DocFest than a doc about a fest.     Nona is made speechless for the first time, but is it due to the film or just the Werewolf dildo monster tickling a pickle? either way, this is an odd film that neither of us were expecting to have this reaction to. Touch Me is psychosexual horror-comedy written and directed by Addison Heimann. Two best friends become addicted to the heroin-like touch of an alien narcissist who is trying to take over the world. The film stars Olivia Taylor Dudley (She Dies Tomorrow, The Magicians), Lou Taylor Pucci (Daredevil: Born Again, American Horror Story) and Jordan Gavaris (Wish You Were Here, Hacks). Touch Me was produced by John Humber (Hypochondriac, Moon Manor) and David Lawson Jr. (Something In The Dirt, Things Will Be Different). The world premiere took place at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and Abertoir Horror Festival hosted the UK premiere in November. It has also played at numerous genre festivals around the world – including SXSW, Night Visions, Fantasia, Sitges, Melbourne and Soho Horror Festival. Nona and ThatFkingGuy (that is who I am) scratch and sniff our way through the the sights, sounds and smells of Dead Lover Following its World Premiere at Sundance, the film played at SXSW, Night Visions, TIFF, Edinburgh International Film Festival and Soho Horror Festival. Dead Lover is a deliciously dark horror-comedy, for fans of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Death Becomes Her and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The film centers around a smelly gravedigger who craves love and, after she’s found it, refuses to let it go – even in death. Directed and co-written by Grace Glowicki, the film stars Glowicki, Ben Petrie, Leah Doz and Lowen Morrow, each playing multiple parts. A lonely gravedigger, who stinks of corpses, finally meets her dream man – but their romance is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, the gravedigger goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love.
