    Family is great and so is having a life-long romantic partner, but friends do so much of the heavy lifting throughout our lives so who we choose to remain close with means A LOT. That said, people are complex by nature and evolve overtime, so friendships that ebb and flow are just a part of life. In today's episode, Emma chats about the roles friends play in your life, how to navigate shifts in the friendship, when it's time to "break up" with a toxic friend or just let it fizzle, and shares some of her anecdotes about her best friends over the years.     I met Stephanie Geddie my freshman year of college at the University of Kansas, and we've been friends ever since. Geddie is our smartest friend (we've discussed this—I'm not offending anyone by stating this fact) who decided to do a 180º with her career, going from marketing to the healthcare field as an ER nurse. In this episode, Geddie shares how she realized she was in the wrong field in her late 20s, and how she pressed the reset button to get to where she is today.
