The Adoption Files
The Adoption files seeks to provide a place for adoptees and allies to discuss the laws preventing adoptees from accessing their identities, and the emotional and physical challenges adoptees face in the process of dealing with the obstacles we face. We recognize the need to expose the problematic aspects of the adoption industry and the narrative they perpetuate.

Excellent informational podcast prioritizing adoptee voices
24/01/2024
I love this podcast. I read someone else's review saying its a negative view on adoption but what it actually is, is a realistic view of adoption because the voices you are hearing are the people who are adopted, rather than the people who adopted them. Adoptees are the ones most affected by the choices that others have made on their behalf. Their voices SHOULD be the ones we are listening to when we consider the impact of adoption and the laws enacted around that issue. This podcast is full of information about adoptee rights to accessing their origin information (spoiler - adoptees have very few - to no - rights to their own information in most US states). If you're interested in learning more about how modern adoption laws impact people who are adopted and if you're willing to have an open mind and have the societal, rainbows and unicorns narrative challenged, this is the podcast for you.
