    In this episode, I speak with Mateo Way, a vegan powerlifter and bodybuilder, about what led him to lifting and veganism, differences between bodybuilding and powerlifting training, effective diet and nutrition strategies, individual genetic differences, vegan stereotypes and much, much more. Mateo is a burly ass dude with a 529 lb squat, 365 lb bench and 627 Lb deadlift at a bodyweight of 228 lbs. He’s been vegan for 15 years in just a couple months and for the entirety of his lifting career so virtually all of his strength was built on a plant based diet. Mateo drops tons of knowledge bombs in this episode and I think it’s incredibly useful information even for a seasoned lifter. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I enjoyed our chat!

Hannah and I discuss how this contest prep differed compared to previous preps in terms of diet in particular, her training, what got her into bodybuilding, her reasons for going vegan, her experience with transitioning diet and lifestyle habits, her time in art school, PED’s in bodybuilding and so much more. Hannah provides a very interesting perspective on all of these subjects and I found myself relating to a lot of her opinions and experiences. Adrian himself has struggled with anxiety and depression in the past which caused him to seek his own journey of self improvement. Through exercise, yoga, diet, meditation, positive thinking and therapy, Adrian was able to completely transform himself over time into the happy and positive person he is today. Adrian continues his pursuit of personal growth and development and has a passion for helping others undergo the same transformation that he himself has, and continues, to undergo.
