    In this episode of the “Rethinking Athletics” series, we begin moving from diagnosing the problems in modern youth sports to casting a vision for something better. After examining the issues of worship, family priorities, coaching, parenting and authority, many families are left asking an important question: “What do we do now?” This episode offers a hopeful answer. There is another way. Rather than abandoning athletics altogether, Christian families are called to reform it by placing sports underneath biblical priorities. When worship, discipleship, family and the local church are properly ordered, athletics can become the gift God intended it to be instead of the burden it has become for so many families. In this episode, we discuss: -What modern sports culture is producing -Why biblical priorities matter -The difference between making athletics a priority versus making it a servant -How athletics can strengthen families instead of fragmenting them -Why reformation is a better answer than retreat -And what a healthy, God-centered athletic culture might look like Athletics was never meant to be a god. While many people blame the challenges of youth athletics on parents, coaches, organizations or athletes, the deeper issue is often confusion. When roles become blurred and God-ordained authority structures are ignored, chaos inevitably follows. Parents begin coaching, coaches attempt to parent, athletes become decision-makers, and organizations drift away from their intended purpose. Drawing from Genesis and Colossians 3, we learn that work is an assignment from God and an opportunity to glorify Him. Most importantly, work is not our identity—Christ is. When our identity is rooted in Christ, we are free to work hard, pursue excellence, and faithfully steward every assignment God places before us.
