The Atomless

What a great show it’s hard to know where to start. As a podcaster and audio editor, audio quality is incredibly important to me when I listen to a show. And The Atomless nails it. Clean, crisp, balanced audio. Immersive post production effects and ambience, A+. Then we have to talk about the roleplay. All of it is top notch, from the descriptions by the dm and players, to in character dialogue. It all adds to the story. It’s really easy to fall into the trap of doing goofs just because you can, but everything the players do builds the narrative and story. They players are excellent at both “yes and” and using their characters to highlight and bring in the other characters in a cohesive way. Can’t wait to keep listening.

Actually infuriating how well done this storytelling is. I usually struggle with exposition but the characters’ introductions are so laced with humor and wit from both the GM and the players that I was laughing out loud during my shift. Multiple plot twists that made me go “i should have seen that *coming*!” and a fantastic balance of action vs. emotional schenanigans. This is one of those shows that’s lighthearted and fun with plenty of Committing To The Bit until they punch you in the gut with tragedy. The npc’s are wildly animated, and the pc’s bounce off each others’ chaos beautifully, and the sound effects make my immersive audio brain happy. I’m stoked for the next round of eps and can’t recommend this highly enough. ✌️

With impeccable editing, electric cast chemistry, amazing GMing, and a very well realized setting this show is nothing less than exemplary. If you are looking for a show that is overflowing with exciting character moments then this is the one for you. One of the most telling things is that this is now only of 2 actual play shows that made me audibly gasp. Truly I struggle to think of a reason why you would not trust your time to the incredible crew of The Patchwork.

The cast, the DM, the storytelling, and the audio production of this podcast are incredibly immersive in the world, as well as makes one feel they have a seat at the table as the game is played. The frenetic energy of the chaotic moments of this show (currently on Episode 7) is sure to make you giggle along as the crew get into hijinks and shenanigans galore!
