Five and Dive, Episode 225: Ninety percent of the season is half over

In Episode 225, Jeffrey and Craig chat about coffee and columns and eventually discuss five mostly baseball topics.

    1. Shipping Up (the standings) to Boston: The Red Sox have been red hot, how sustainable is it?

    2. Woah-oh, we're halfway there: We've completed about half of the season so let's check in on the playoff and awards races.

    3. Hey now, you're an all-star: Craig still doesn't care about the All-Star Game but we will do a segment anyway.

    4. Around the Horn: More city connect jerseys, more Mets starters coming back, and we check in with the Dodgers

    5. What to Watch: Yanks and Sawx

Infinite Inning 230: The One with Lute

Infinite Inning 230: The One with Lute

One more solo episode inspired, as always, by current events in which the right player is suspended for what he didn’t do but what everyone understood he intended and a player attempts to start a fan uprising.

    TABLE OF CONTENTS
The Brawl that No One Saw*Luke/Lute/Daniel Boone’s Strange Ejection*Goodbyes.

The Infinite Inning is not only about baseball but a state of mind. Steven Goldman, rotating cohosts Jesse Spector, Cliff Corcoran, and David Roth, and occasional guests discuss the game’s present, past, and future with forays outside the foul lines to the culture at large. Expect stats, anecdotes, digressions, explorations of writing and fandom, and more Casey Stengel quotations than you thought possible. Along the way, they’ll try to solve the puzzle that is the Infinite Inning: How do you find the joy in life when you can’t get anybody out?

Five and Dive, Episode 224: Los Angeles, I'm Contractually Yours

Five and Dive, Episode 224: Los Angeles, I'm Contractually Yours

    1. There's no such thing as a Freeman agency: Freddie Freeman is not happy with last offseason negotiations it would seem.

    2. Angels with Dirty Faces: Our now weekly Angels segment includes a brawl and some pro wrestling theater (plus a free pizza).

    3. Antitrust but Verify: The Senate Judiciary seems interested in examining the league's antitrust examination.

    4. Around the Horn: Rob Manfred moves in for his close up, and Jerry Dipoto is back on the trade market.

    5. What to Watch: Not the Athletics on the field, but where their field might be, plus Jays/Rays.

Five and Dive, Episode 223: Weeping Angels

In Episode 223, Zach and Craig discuss five mostly baseball topics.

    1. Ol' Tungsten Arm O'Doyle: Shohei Ohtani continues to do amazing things while the Angels continue to win 77 games or whatever.

    2. Muddy Waters: Have you ever wondered how to properly rub up a baseball? Apparently there are rules.

    3. Minor Threat: Issues around pay in the minors come to the forefront again at the end of extended spring training.

    4. Around the Horn: Aaron Judge makes statement, Isaac Paredes hits some dingers, and the Giants will probably get 300 good at-bats out of Willie Calhoun now.

    5. What to Watch: Yankees/Astros continues and Cleveland/Boston is sneaky fun.

Infinite Inning 229: The Benign Uncle

Another solo episode as your host continues to recover from whatever is wrong with him THIS week! (Even his doctors mock him). This week: Tales of two catchers, one of whom was the best uncle baseball ever had, the other a longtime manager who had a moment of unusual frankness after making a trade.

Good podcast except for, um, y’know, Bradford

One of the better baseball podcasts out there, especially from the evaluation side. Tons of good inside baseball information as well. Just skip the episodes with, um, y’know, Bradford because, y’know, he um, can’t complete, y’know, a sentence without, y’know, at least five, umm, filler words, y’know? And unfortunately this detracts significantly from episodes he’s on, y’know?

Ah Um y’know um the y’know

Unlistenable because one of the hosts can’t go 3 words without saying “uhhh y’know.” I get it, not everyone can do public speaking and I’m sure he’s a great guy, but it’s a podcast. You have one job.
