An entertaining story-telling experience

I am late to the show, but quickly playing catch up with this podcast. I am also new to D&D/Pathfinder role-playing games, but this podcast has been a huge help for me, both in learning how to play and also growing my enjoyment of the RP world.

I wanted to wait until I finished Season 1 to do a review, but even from the first episode I knew I would love listening, and I have. The fellas do an amazing job of playing the characters, but this podcast is so much more. Chance crushes it as DM and his story-telling (especially the cold opens) is top notch. The guys interact with each other in ways that are hilarious, entertaining, and sometimes seriously deep. I have really enjoyed listening to how the characters have grown, how their arcs are developing, and how they engage with the overall plot of the Book.

The pre pods are also a fun way to get to know a cool group of fellas. And beyond that they offer a lot more through their website, social media, and streams. Check them out, and you’ll be hooked!

PS- I can’t wait for the Pib and Zarf offshoot podcast ;)

I'm only about a quarter of the way in, but each character is so intruiging with a rich backstory and clear motivations that drive them through each episode. I'm already hooked! I also loved how each backstory was introduced right away, and Chance’s narrations are stellar. Also, 8 is obviously the superior initiative number. D

Exquisite

These guys are entertaining, compelling, and absolutely themselves. Chance is an excellent story teller and it’s obvious he enjoys it. Zach, Silas, Jackson and Ronnie love solving problems, and killing monsters, and joking around, and it shows. If you listen to this podcast, you’ll not only get to see the characters they’ve all created and the world they’re investing in, but with pre-pods and side-talks, you get to see each of their unique personalities in depth. I’ve met a couple of the guys once or twice, but I feel like I’ve known them for so long and am good friends with them because that’s just the way they talk and interact with each other. It helps that they’re so approachable and interactive on social media and their discord. The story is humorous, exciting, and emotional, and leaves you daydreaming about the next time you have an hour and a half to listen to the new episode. If you’ve got the time, not only will you gain something to fill it with, but you can gain 5 new friends plus a whole community that supports and talks to each other. There are few better pastimes than the Basically Good Podcast
