About Ameesah: Ameesah Cotten is a graduate of George Washington University's School of Public Health with a lifelong connection to the ocean that began at 10 months old during my first trip to Jamaica. Growing up with eczema, her mom introduced me to the therapeutic properties of salt water and sand exfoliation, fostering an early appreciation for the ocean.  She finds that proximity to large bodies of water provides her with mental clarity and restoration, particularly during demanding periods in life. Jenn and I swam together in college in the mid-80s, and while we lost touch after graduation, we reconnected in 2020—thank you, Facebook!     In Search of Soft Sand and Tranquil Shores: My Bucket List Trip to Longboat Key Florida
