Gençlerbirliği were reduced to 10 men in the 18th minute after a VAR review showed Koita lashing out with his studs into Tiago Djaló’s knee, resulting in a straight red card. From that point forward, Beşiktaş controlled possession — but breaking down a compact Gençler defense proved more difficult than expected.     383. Beşiktaş 0-1 Galatasaray | Black Eagles suffer deflating End to unbeaten streak!

    Beşiktaş saw their unbeaten streak come to a crushing end after a controversial 1–0 derby defeat to Galatasaray at Tüpraş Stadium. Despite playing against 10 men for part of the match, the Black Eagles were unable to turn the game around in a heated clash filled with refereeing controversy, missed chances, and big talking points. The match was intense from the opening minutes, with cards flying early in this fierce Istanbul derby. The biggest moment came in the 20th minute, when Leroy Sané appeared to plant his studs on Kristjan Asllani’s upper foot in a challenge many believe should have been a straight red card. Instead, play continued — and just 19 minutes later Sané assisted the only goal of the match, adding insult to injury for Beşiktaş. A goal by Victor Osimhen, which on it's own was controversial enough as it had a very strong hint of offside -- looking like a very clear offside decision on the live feed. However, the VAR check showed he was just narrowly onside. Sané was eventually sent off in the 62nd minute, but only after a much softer foul. Many fans viewed the decision as a “make-up call”, though he would have been dismissed anyway due to already being on a yellow card. But the controversy didn’t stop there. Questionable decisions, missed calls, and frustration from the stands shaped a derby that will be debated for a long time.
