    Aboriginal Heritage — When Faith Meets Hidden Curses

When I talk about “Indigenous peoples,” I mean the original inhabitants of a region who have unique cultural and spiritual traditions. While each group is distinct, many share practices involving ancestor spirits, nature, and ceremonial rituals. Both of her parents carried painful childhood experiences involving abusive alcoholic fathers. Like many families, the wounds did not begin with one generation. Her family carried Aboriginal ancestry that had been deliberately kept secret because of racism in Australia. As a child she didn’t understand why she looked different from other students and was even teased about the darker color of her skin. The truth about her Aboriginal heritage would only surface much later in life. Yvonne became a Christian at twelve years old and spent her life sincerely pursuing God. She went to university, became a high school teacher, worked in Christian schools, and even trained for ministry. She faithfully prayed, studied the Bible, attended conferences, and pursued counseling for the pain she carried from childhood. Yet despite years of faith and spiritual discipline, the demonic oppression never completely lifted. The emotional pain remained, and eventually she began experiencing disturbing spiritual symptoms that led her to confront a possibility many Western Christians are rarely taught to consider — that generational curses and demonic oppression may still be affecting believers today. During our conversation we also explore how ancestral spiritual practices are not unique to Australia. Many Indigenous cultures around the world share similar spiritual traditions involving ancestor spirits, animal spirits, nature spirits, dreaming/vision practices, and ceremonial rituals.     Massage Therapy and the New Age — She Thought She Was Still a Christian

    Send me a one-way anonymous text message What happens when a massage therapist blends Reiki, crystals, and energy work into her sessions — believing she’s still a Christian? Roxanne holds a psychology degree and spent 16 years working in the mental health field. After experiencing burnout in that environment, she sought a new career path and became a licensed massage therapist, hoping to continue helping people in a different way.  Her desire to help others gradually drew her into becoming a Reiki Master and practicing pranic healing, chakra work, aura reading, soul retrieval, energy clearing, distant healing, and shamanic techniques. She immersed herself in meditation, drumming circles, ayahuasca (psychedelic plant medicine), bufo (psychedelic toad venom), protection rituals with crystals and salt, and various forms of Hindu, Buddhist, and Hare Krishna chanting. Identifying as an empath and deeply energy-sensitive, these modalities became the framework through which she understood healing and spirituality for more than two decades. She wove many of these energy-based practices directly into her massage sessions. The peace felt real. The energy felt powerful. Clients left feeling better. But it didn’t last.
