It was truly a fascinating and enlightening conversation - to explore the end of life and how we think about it, how we treat it in society, and how we can do better to support people who are dying, and those people who support the dying or those who are wanting to face their own mortality with more wisdom, grace, and connection. So many great perspectives drawing on research, academic views, and a progressive social commentary on how to live best with death. Near Death, New Life with Kellan Fluckiger

I first met Kellan at a Near Death Experience conference, where he spoke passionately about his incredible experience of professional, death and loss, personal transformation and his extraordinary experience of being physically dead. His honesty and energy were compelling, and I'm so honored that I have had the chance to get to know him since. This conversation is energizing, challenging, and I encourage you to be sure that you listen to his experience on the other side. Grounded in decades of extraordinary business, success, and now fueled by spiritual insight, he offers such an important perspective on life and death. Kellan has lived multiple lives and careers. He had a 30-year career in energy, including C-suite positions in the US and Canada. He has a 16-year career as a Life and Business coach and is known as the “Alchemist of the Soul.” He is the author of 18 books and counting with numerous #1 bestsellers, Kellan coaches an international clientele in business, mindset work and high-performance. He performed in a music group that had three albums chart #1 on the Billboard charts. He still writes, records and performs. Kellan also had a 40-year battle with undiagnosed and untreated Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), which led through a roller coaster of high-flying success and secret stints in rehab for addictions. In 2018, Kellan had a near-death experience as he lay in a coma for three weeks while doctors scrambled to both save his life and diagnose the lethal strain of MRSA, which had severely infected both lungs. From that experience came several books, most notably Meeting God at the Door - Conversations, Choices, and Commitments of a Near-Death Experience, and Down From The Gallows. The Wisdom of Life in Death, from an African Traditional Healer

It is always a gift to spend time with John Lockley. I look up to him as one of my own teachers and a model of how to live culturally, rooted wisdom and lifeways with integrity and balance. This magnificent conversation unfolds almost like a ceremony as we explore the deeper lessons of healing, ceremony, and the power of the Spirit World as we discuss death, tradition, and traditional medicine. According to John's Xhosa elders, he is one of the first white men after Apartheid to become a fully initiated Xhosa sangoma (African Shaman). In the sangoma medicine path in South Africa, there are many different tribes/lineages that make up a rich and diverse tapestry of healing. South Africa has one of the oldest living shamanic cultures left in the world. John Lockley was born, in 1971, into a divided Apartheid South Africa, with the mark of the sangoma on his face – a band of white birth skin around the eyes. At 18, John was serving in the South African army as a medic (during the war with Angola in the 1980s) when he had a strong, prophetic dream calling him to train as a Xhosa sangoma. He immediately began to suffer from the thwasa, a severe period of ill-health that is inherent in all ancient shamanic cultures which can only be cured through apprenticeship to a shamanic teacher. Because of the restrictions of Apartheid (which ended in 1994) it would take John seven years to find a Xhosa teacher. Learn more at https://www.johnlockley.com. Learn more about your ad choices.
