S4 EP08:The Bear Movies and the One About Water
Well, it was back in '24 when Adam up and sold all his possessions and moved out west to the Rockies to live off the land as a trapper and all around mountain man since he already felt that he had the beard for it. Josh began training to accomplish his lifelong pursuit to fight a bear in a sumo match. As for Jason, well he decided to sail around the world solo in an inflatable kiddie pool. Why'd they do such things? Some say that they were crazy. Others say they was bored. Still, some believe that they were just plumb stupid. Turns out that they were all those things. Plus, they wanted to prepare to talk about movies concerning man vs. nature like Project Grizzly, The Revenant, All Is Lost, Jerimiah Johnson, and Never Cry Wolf.

I was on the case. There I was sitting in a dive bar because some big lug with a face that could sour milk was paying me 25 bucks a day plus expenses. I was searching. Not for a dame. No, that would have been too easy. Instead he wanted me to find him a podcast that talked about Film Noir. None of this would have been necessary had he just listened to The Bricked Pit. Jason, Josh, Adam, and their special guest Patrick from Vintage Video already punched that ticket when they talked about such films as Murder, My Sweet, D.O.A., The Asphalt Jungle, and Double Indemnity.

A brick above the rest
This is such a wonderful film podcast for a variety of reasons. The hosting is awesome and hilarious, cut to the information that is so in-depth. They really get down in it and I’ve learned so much! The topics/entertainment they choose to discuss is great and it pairs well with all the information given without being boring or overbearing. I highly recommend this show you’ll learn a lot and have a laugh!
A pit I don’t mind being bricked up in!
It’s hard for a movie podcast to stand out these days. But this one manages to by elevating their discussion from simple reviews or lists of movies they like/dislike. Instead the hosts provide a surprising amount of depth in their conversations of the media landscape then and now with both wit and intelligence. Throw in some solid production value and you’ve got a brickin’ awesome movie pod. Make it so!
