    Deceiving (25; 27)

    God Provides (Genesis 22:1-19)

    Abraham #6 - As cruel as God’s test for Abraham seems on the surface, this sermon shows how it is actually a gift of grace from God. God spares Isaac’s life, but he does not spare his own Son.     Promise Confirmed (Genesis 15)

    Abraham #3 - Sometimes following Jesus can feel like it is costing us greatly. We can start to doubt if God’s promises to those who love Him will be true for us. In today’s Bible passage, Abraham doubts the promises God has made him. God is gentle and kind and reassures Abraham by establishing a covenant with him. And God extends a new covenant promise to us through Jesus Christ. Jesus dies in our place so that we can have a new covenant relationship with God, like Abraham did. All we have to do is believe.     Lot's Choice (Genesis 13)

    Abraham #2 - In this passage, Abraham and Lot represent two ways we can live. Abraham’s faith in God and His promises allows him to give up his right to choose the land he settles in. He gifts the choice to Lot. Lot makes the best decision he can for himself based on what he thinks looks good. Will we live according to God’s wisdom, even when it seems like we are losing out? We can live for the good of others and in peace because God promises to work things out for the good of those who love Him. And God always keeps His promises.     Calling Abraham (Genesis 11:27-12:)

    In the Beginning #5 - In this passage, God tells Abraham to leave his home and follow. Through his obedience, Abraham is blessed to be a blessing to the whole world. When God calls us to follow Him, we should respond with humility and gratitude. As we follow Him, we should always remember that whatever blessings He gives us are not meant for us to store up for ourselves. God blesses us so that we can bless others.     Confusion (Genesis 11:1-9)

    In the Beginning #4 - Technology is advancing and humanity is excited about it’s potential. But this isn’t the first time in history we have been here. Today’s passage tells of another time in history when people were excited about a new technology and what they would be able to accomplish with it. The story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1-9 shows us that we cannot build our own value on our own accomplishments. Instead, we need to rely on God and rest in the name He gives us.
