    S1E23-Speaking in Tongues: Paul did it. Should you?

    Just as in Acts, the presence of tongues is undeniable within Paul's epistles. And 1 Corinthians 14 is one such chapter which dedicates many words to the proper instruction and benefit of tongues within the church. Yet despite its clear language, the misuse of tongues is equally undeniable within so-called modern Christianity. Not once does Paul instruct or condone the whole assembly to do it at the same time! Yet, this is not hard to find today. And did you know that there are TWO purposes for tongues given in 1 Corinthians 14? That's right. TWO different purposes for TWO totally different situations. It is thus apparent that many Christians today have not heeded the mighty words which conclude this great chapter: "If anyone thinks that he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment." (1 Cor 14:37 - NASB2020) We could avoid these topics, you know. We could just never talk about anything disagreeable. I don't believe that would be loving or unifying. Unity is not achieved by willfully avoiding that which your brother does not believe. Rather, we speak His Truth with all the humility in our hearts, that those who have been hungry for far too long may be filled by the One and Only True God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.     How Are We Saved?

    Scarcely does a topic invite more questions than that of salvation. "How do I get it?" "I don't feel anything. Am I supposed to feel different?" "How do I know I have it?" "I screwed up big time. What happens now?" "Is there any proof I'm actually saved?" "Okay, how about now. Am I still saved?" And on and on... And each denomination has different rules for how to get it, how to keep it, and what to do when you screw up. Tonight, Vincent and I return to the Scriptures to clear the air surrounding salvation.     You Are Standing in Grace

    Grace, at its core, is a word used to describe what God does. And here's my question for you: How do you see your life in relation to what God does? Be honest. Do you see yourself close to the work of God? Does He move constantly in your life? Or are there times where it seems like He's not present, like He's visiting other people this month? Do you pray to a God who is close or a God who is far away? And when you say "amen," do you live with fear or with expectation? I don't know your struggle or what is hurting you.     The Love That's Here

    Have you ever felt like someone in your life was loving you from a distance? They say they love you, but they're never present, never there when you really need them.     You Are Not Like Them.

    Colossians 1:13: For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness... When Christ rescued us, he separated us from darkness. Yet, we're still living in a world which (if we're being honest) is utterly dark. So, how does that work? He rescued us from darkness... buuttt, we're still in a darkened world. If one apple spoils the whole bunch, then this seems like a recipe for a lot of rotten apples. Well, bros, that's where sanctification comes in. Sanctification is the Christian's God-given holiness which allows them to remain victorious in a darkened world. And that's today's podcast! Sure love you bros. Does anyone even read this stuff?
