Matt on The Nordic Model podcast
Matt appeared on The Nordic Model podcast earlier this week. I am crossposting the audio here for your enjoyment. You can follow them on:
* Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/2bWggCJikcvBQdtduvF7sa
* YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq-6BFMXDhBV4zlWWcAqguw

This is not our episode for the week. We will have a special xmas episode out soon.
Liz went on a two-pronged reporting trip, first to DC to cover a congressional hearing, and then to the Mississippi State Penitentiary to cover the execution of David Cox. Matt tagged along and collected bits of audio for this somewhat experimental episode.
The Devastating Power of Sympathy Strikes; Paid Leave Ranting and Raving
Matt pods solo on this one, talking about his hit piece about what happened when McDonalds went to Denmark and tried to run without a union. Talk includes details not in the piece and a telling of a similar story of what happened when Toys R Us went to Sweden in 1995 and tried the exact same shit.
At the end of the podcast, Matt uses Lee Harris's article about paid leave in The Prospect to rant and rave about the insanity of what is going on with House Dems when it comes to paid leave.
Matt Solo Ep on the Welfare State & MMT
People seem to like these. So here we go again. Matt discusses the mistake everyone makes about what the welfare state is for. Then he talks about the recent MMT punditry. In the middle is Jarrod's Corner.
Delightful show, but I wish it was available on more platforms! I can’t listen to it on my preferred player, sadly.
Not worth your time. These two are simply bad, villainous, and juvenile people. Two peas in a pod.
Topic idea - Catholic economic perspective
I appreciate your podcast. I first heard Elizabeth on LRC and it led me to this podcast and other ones she has appeared in.
I’m a practicing Catholic and it is my world view. I would be interested in your thoughts on Socialism from a Catholic lens.
I’m a capitalist and support limited government because power corrupts and putting people in “debt” to the government is dangerous. Side note … I don’t support corporate socialism either.
I genuinely want to support robust social programs (such as UBI, Social Security for kids, programs that strengthen the family) but Government “forced” altruism is not charity. I feel it creates divisions because the “giver” gets no joy and “receiver” has no gratitude.
Knowing mankind’s shortfalls, help me understand what economic system is most in line w/God’s will.
