    BO7 RANKED PLAY AND FUTURE OF THE CDL | The COD Casuals Ep. 262

    Welcome to episode #262 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start with our ranked status so far, and where we have improved, and where we are still struggling. There is still a lot to learn in ranked, and we give thoughts on those who vote to forfeit. We think this is a problem with most new players today, who simply don’t want to keep playing to improve, and want an easier game to make them feel as if they’re actually improving. We then shift towards covering the past CDL weekend, and we have learned a lot from the team’s current standings post Major 1. Lots of teams have serious weaknesses in their ability on modes, or players simply not performing. With new amateur players starting for Thieves and KOI, the question becomes do teams at the bottom take similar chances? How are you progressing in ranked so far? Do you know your strengths and weaknesses? When you lose, do you learn from your mistakes and work with your teammate, or do you dashboard?     BLACK OPS 7 RANKED PLAY, MODERN WARFARE 4, REMASTERED MW3?! | The COD Casuals Ep. 261

    Welcome to episode #261 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with our CDL overview, as we have some teams in dire situations post major 1, particularly Cloud 9, as its been announced that they have dropped their entire roster. We give our thoughts on this move, and what this means for the future of that CDL spot, as well as any future players who sign to that team. Is it the right move to join that organization, or simply wait for a better offer from the CDL? We then move towards some rumors regarding Modern Warfare 3, in that it may be up for a multiplayer remaster. We discuss the idea of remastered CODs becoming a thing, and if that is where COD needs to go in the future. Finally, we end with talks about the teased Modern Warfare 4, and how there are talks that it is making the correct steps to be a good successor to Black Ops 7’s multiplayer experience. We share what we feel next year’s COD needs to do to be successful. What are your thoughts on the Cloud 9 situation? Was it a bad move to drop their whole roster?     OPTIC MAJOR 1 EXPERIENCE | PARIS GENTLEMATES CHAMPIONS | The COD Casuals Ep. 260

    Welcome to episode #260 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we have returned from Major 1 in Dallas, Texas, and we have a lot to share. For those who have never been to a Call of Duty event, or esports event in general, we give a full breakdown of our experience the entire weekend. From the venue and its organization, to the VIP experience and matches, we leave no stones unturned, and give our unbiased review of the weekend. Along with the experience, we break down the matches. From the winners to the losers, we give our thoughts on the teams that we feel cemented themselves as contenders, and who we feel are in serious need of a change in order to contend, and even be in attendance for Major II. Finally, ranked play is finally out, and we give our first impressions on the experience, where we placed after our placement matches, and what we feel are the strongest points of this year’s ranked play system.     BLACK OPS 7 OPTIC MAJOR 1 CDL INCOMING | The COD Casuals Ep. 259

    Welcome to episode #259 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we give our final thoughts on the CDL’s online matches, as we come to the end of the online qualifiers and are now ready for Major 1 in Dallas. We are beyond excited to be attending this event, and we will be sure to give our full breakdown of the experience in next week’s episode. We give our opinions on who are gonna be the top teams making it to Sunday, and how this has to be one of the best Major 1 events in a while due to the uncertainty at the top. With no clear #1 team, we’re expecting some crazy matches, and hopefully a couple upsets along the way. Finally, we have gotten confirmation that ranked play will be dropping on February 5th, and we cannot be more excited. A big annoyance people have had with the game so far is the long wait for ranked play to drop. We have to look back on the mistakes of last year with ranked, and hope that Treyarch has taken the necessary steps to make this ranked play experience better than last year. In this episode, we start off with the CDL weekend recap, as we draw closer to Major 1 in Dallas. This year has been interesting compared to previous years, as there is no clear top team in the league right now, as this past weekend had some major upsets coming from bottom teams on the resurgence towards top teams. We share our thoughts and reasoning as to why this is, and what this will mean for the major. We then shift to the continued growth of BO7, as recent stats have shown this game has had a strong base of players to start 2026, and BF6 is continuing to drop. We then close with the question of the future of Call of Duty. What will this title need to do in order to stay relevant in the next 5 years, and will it be around in 10-20 years like it already has since its first installment. As Slasher has officially retired, Dashy has now become the most veteran COD player in the CDL currently, and we reflect on how long we have been watching these players, and what the league will look like in the next 5-10 years roster-wise. We then shift to the most recent set of matches, and the big news surrounding LAT and their struggles. The fans and critics are calling for a change, and the question is will that solve their problems? We discuss the situation they are in, and what our opinions are on the team and their potential moves going into Major 1. Finally, we end with some season 1 reloaded talk, as we have a new event going on, along with some fan favorite remasters coming into the map pool, and hopefully into the CDL after major 1.     THE BEST ERA OF CALL OF DUTY, AI IN GAMING, BO7 SEASON 1 RELOADED? | | The COD Casuals Ep. 256

    Welcome to episode #256 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with a talk about the old guard in gaming, and who from the OG era of Call of Duty is still actively playing, from the originals to current day. This is brought up as the conversation shifts to AI in gaming, and how this will more than likely be the most prevalent addition to games in the future, and its role in creating games is what is up for debate. We discuss the main question; Is AI good or bad for gaming, and what needs to be done about its role in creating new games? This no doubt has been used for years, and is becoming more common in games we play like Call of Duty. With season 1 reloaded on the horizon, and ranked play discussions rising as we close in on season 2, we discuss some ideas that we think would make the experience even better. We share our thoughts on what ranked will be like this year, and how we think it’ll play compared to previous years.  Do you think there’s lots of gamers left from 20 years ago that still play? What do you think about AI in gaming? Is it a good move for developers and publishers to invest heavily in it, or should its use be limited?     THE DOWNFALL OF FAZE CLAN?! | BLACK OPS 7 ZOMBIES | The COD Casuals Ep. 255

    Welcome to episode #255 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we finally get our hands on the zombies experience in Black Ops 7! From two people who are the most casual of casual zombies players, we give our initial thoughts on the two maps so far, the story, gameplay, and more! Zombies as a mode  has been in a tough place over the past couple of years, but you can always rely on Treyarch to pull through, and it seems that they have with this year’s zombies. Along with this, we cover our experience with the easter egg in 1 map, and what we think Treyarch is trying to do with the “Ashes of the Damned” idea of zombies being an open-world experience. We share our thoughts on if this is where zombies’ future lies, as the large, battle-royale-type maps still succeed. We also touch on the end of FaZe Clan, and what this meant to the gaming community, and what lies for the future of the brand. Have you given zombies a chance so far? If so, what do you think of it?
