The Coherence Code Podcast

Lorne Brown

I’m Dr. Lorne Brown, a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and for decades I’ve worked with the body, the nervous system, and the deeper patterns that shape healing. Through my clinical work, I’ve seen that lasting change doesn’t come from forcing outcomes, but from removing interference and restoring coherence. The Coherence Code Podcast is my space to explore that truth — through conversations with clinicians, researchers, patients, and thought leaders across medicine, consciousness, and human transformation. This podcast exists because coherent systems heal, and understanding coherence can change how you relate to your body, your mind, and your life.

171: Stop Trying to Fix Yourself: The Path to Wholeness | Lorena Monda

In this episode, Lorne Brown speaks with psychotherapist, Hakomi teacher, author, and acupuncturist Lorena Monda about the practice of wholeness and what creates deep, lasting transformation. Lorena explores why constantly searching outside ourselves for the next solution may only take us so far—and why curiosity, awareness, and a willingness to experience what is happening within us can open a different path. Together, they discuss unconscious patterns, the connection between body, mind, emotion, and spirit, and how the body can reveal beliefs and experiences we may not consciously recognize. Lorena also explains why acceptance is more than a mental idea, how giving up the fight with ourselves can create meaningful change, and how greater inner coherence can transform the way we experience relationships, emotions, and everyday life. Key Takeaways: Lasting transformation isn’t necessarily about fixing yourself—it can begin with becoming curious about what is already happening within you.Feelings can act as a bridge between the body and mind, revealing patterns that thinking alone may not uncover. Our unconscious patterns can be shaped by family, culture, society, and experiences we may not realize still influence us.Acceptance is an embodied experience, not simply something we convince ourselves to believe.Greater wholeness can change relationships by helping us accept ourselves, allow others to be themselves, and become more open to change. 170: Near-Death Experiences & Consciousness Explained by 3 Doctors: Dr. Eben Alexander, Dr. Anna Yusim & Dr. Mitch Abrams

In this episode Dr. Lorne Brown brings together neurosurgeon and Proof of Heaven author Dr. Eben Alexander, psychiatrist and Fulfilled author Dr. Anna Yusim, and radiologist Dr. Mitchell Abrams for a wide-ranging conversation about near-death experiences, consciousness, spirituality, healing, and the limitations of a purely material view of medicine. Together, they examine what near-death experiences may teach us about love, purpose, connection, and how to live differently now—without needing a life-altering experience to wake us up. The discussion explicitly moves from whether consciousness can exist beyond the brain toward a broader model of healing that includes mind, body, spirit, relationships, and inner experience. 169: Synchronicity, Consciousness & the Power of Letting Go | Dr. Anna Yusim

What if fulfillment isn’t about doing more, but learning to see—and live—differently? In this episode, Dr. Lorne Brown reconnects with psychiatrist, executive coach, and Fulfilled author Dr. Anna Yusim for a deeper exploration of synchronicity, intuition, consciousness, manifestation, and our connection to something larger than ourselves. They discuss how meaningful coincidences can become sources of guidance, why surrender can be especially difficult for high achievers, and how excessive control may actually block the outcomes we are trying to create. Anna also explores the possibility that consciousness extends beyond the brain, the relationship between science and spirituality, interconnectedness, and what near-death experiences may suggest about life beyond the physical body. Ultimately, the conversation asks what can happen when we quiet the noise, release our attachment to outcomes, and become more receptive to life. Key Takeaways: Synchronicity is personal. What transforms a coincidence into a synchronicity is the meaning we give it. Intuition requires less noise. Quieting mental and emotional static can make internal guidance easier to recognize. Trying harder isn’t always the answer. For high achievers, excessive attachment and control can interfere with the very outcome they are pursuing. Being and doing need balance. Anna contrasts the action-oriented “yang” approach with a receptive “yin” approach based on being, peace, joy, and openness. Interconnectedness changes how we live. Seeing ourselves as part of something larger can shift us away from isolation and toward compassion, responsibility, and connection. 168: Stop Trying So Hard: The Power of Living Softly | Tara Stiles

What if achieving more didn’t require pushing harder? In this episode we sit down with Tara Stiles, co-founder of Strala Yoga, bestselling author, and wellness pioneer, to explore the power of living and moving with less tension. Tara shares the philosophy behind her upcoming book, Living Softly, and explains why softness isn’t weakness—it’s a way of letting go of unnecessary rigidity so we can move through life with more strength, energy, and connection. They explore Tara’s journey from dance and traditional yoga to creating Strala Yoga, an accessible approach influenced by yoga, tai chi, qigong, and shiatsu. The conversation moves beyond the yoga mat into everyday life, examining how breath, movement, awareness, and simple “softness breaks” can help us reduce over-efforting, reconnect with intuition, and accomplish more without constantly depleting ourselves. At the heart of the episode is a different definition of success: not doing less with fewer results, but learning to use our energy more intelligently. Key Takeaways: Softness is not weakness. It means reducing rigidity and unnecessary tension while maintaining strength and the ability to act.You can achieve more with less tension. Constant over-efforting can consume energy without necessarily producing better results. The pose isn’t the goal. Strala Yoga emphasizes movement, connection, breath, and how you feel rather than forcing your body into a particular shape.Mindfulness can happen during ordinary life. Tara’s “softness breaks” bring awareness into simple activities rather than limiting mindfulness to formal meditation.Practice matters more than knowledge. Softness becomes transformative when it becomes a daily habit—on the yoga mat, at work, at home, and in relationships.
