    Big Poole Energy — Ole Brook softball head coach Marley Poole, live at the Fit Life Sports Plex

    On this week's episode of The Corner Blitz, we close out the 2025-2026 school year and prepare for a summer hiatus by getting the good word from Marley Poole, the new coach of the Ole Brook Lady Panthers softball team. We talk to Marley about playing and coaching under some of the area's toughest softball bosses, her plan for the Lady Panthers in Year One, and how she used to burn up the court in basketball as a young'un. Benji, Brad and Adam also talk about how the SEC is totally not going to break off from the NCAA, how Congress is totally not going to pass the save-whatever-they-call-it sports act in 2026, and establish the Bradley Creel Rule of college athletics — you're allowed one free transfer in the case of heartbreak.     All the Way — Amite School Center baseball coach Cody Hall and state-champion seniors Dreher VanNorman and Zane Minton, live at the Fit Life Sports Plex

    Four MAIS baseball teams across Southwest Mississippi competed for a state championship last week. Only one went all the way — the ASC Rebels were state champs in 4AD2 after taking a rubber match with Leake Aca. On this week's Corner Blitz, we catch up with the champs. Head coach Cody Hall and seniors Dreher VanNorman and Zane Minton join us on the program to talk baseball, golf, turkey hunting, and postponed trips to Orange Beach. Benjie, Brad and Adam also talk about NBA players joining the men's team at LSU, give an update on Lady Wolfpack softball and cast shame on Arkansas for cutting the tennis programs then threatening to cut them again in the future if they dare to actually fundraise.     After a dozen years at Brookhaven Academy, Josh Watts has stepped down from coaching the boys basketball program and taken up the same gig right down the road at Parklane Academy. Watts joins us on The Corner Blitz this week to talk basketball, new horizons and good, old horses. Benji and friend-of-the-show Danny Smith from Lott Furniture put the spurs to the basketball coach and find out about his future with the Pioneers.     One two three four five six seven ocho NINE... This year, we had NINE local high school tennis players win state championships at the MHSAA and MAIS state tournaments. Four from Brookhaven High School — Crews and Annie Stewart, (5A Mixed Doubles); and Addy Foster and Jenna Townsend (5A Girls Doubles). Two from Loyd Star — Cooper Creel and Brody Thinadeaux (Class 1 Boys Doubles). Two from Brookhaven Academy — Camille Calcote and Kyndra Quinn (4A D2 Girls Doubles). And one from Parklane Academy — Anistyn Henderson (4A D2 Girls Singles). The Lady Wolfpack just finished their regular season as runners-up in the Region 23 Championship, and they're all going to nationals in South Carolina. The men's team is about to embark on their Region Tournament journey tomorrow (April 16, 2026).     The Littlest Champions — the Southern Mississippi Titans youth football league, live at the Fit Life Sports Plex

    An entire national championship coaching staff, crammed in the K106 studio on a special edition of The Corner Blitz. Coach Daniel McGaffaney (Coach Mookie) of the Southern Mississippi Titans is on the show with all his coaches to celebrate their 10U team's national championship win out in Arizona earlier this year. Brad and Adam also hate on college football playoff expansion, hate on the SEC for laying the groundwork for the elimination of the SEC Championship Game, and do a fact check on Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry's promise to institute smaller, performance-based coaching contracts at LSU (hint: it didn't happen).
