    Most people know Gene Roddenberry as the creator of Star Trek - a visionary who imagined humanity exploring the galaxy and encountering alien civilizations. But very few people know that in the 1970s, Roddenberry became involved in a series of real-life psychic experiments attempting to communicate with a mysterious group of entities known only as “The Nine.” These sessions, conducted with psychic medium Phyllis Schlemmer and Parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, produced dozens of hours of recorded conversations with something claiming to represent a group of ancient intelligences connected to the origins of humanity. But far fewer people know the story of Palden Jenkins — one of the researchers who worked closely with the group around Schlemmer and helped bring this material to a wider audience.     REPORT 3: The Lost “Nine” Script: Interview with Roddenberry Collaborator Jon Povill

    In the 1970s, as Gene Roddenberry searched for new ideas beyond Star Trek, he became interested in a mysterious group of non-human intelligences known as “The Nine", and the group that allegedly channeled them. Few people know that a feature film script was developed - and even fewer know that one of the key writers behind it was screenwriter Jon Povill. Jon Povill is a respected Hollywood writer and producer whose career includes work on major science fiction projects and contributions to films like Total Recall, along with extensive work in television and development alongside Gene Roddenberry. In this rare and candid interview, Povill reflects on his collaboration with Roddenberry, the origins of the “Nine” script, and the long effort to develop the project from the 1970s into the 1990s. The director of 1989s "Communion" was at one point attached. Even the legendary Hans Zimmer was in the mix. Perhaps most fascinating - Povill has rarely spoken publicly about his involvement with “The Nine,” making this conversation an important historical record for fans of Roddenberry, Star Trek, and Science Fiction as a whole.     REPORT 2: Steven Halpern's Intergalactic Music Lesson

    Steven Halpern is a Grammy-nominated composer and one of the pioneers of modern sound healing music. Emerging from the consciousness movement of the 1970s, Halpern helped define what would become known as New Age music- creating spacious, meditative compositions designed to calm the nervous system and shift awareness. His landmark album Eastern Peace carries an even more unusual origin story: Halpern has said the music came through him following sessions with psychic Greta Woodrew and an alleged extraterrestrial intelligence known as “The Ogatta Group,” linking his work to the same experimental world that surrounded parapsychologist Andrija Puharich.
