There are not many podcasts I can listen to, especially on design and creativity. The Creative Rising is incredibly inspiring, well produced, with great content.

As a creative myself, listening to these stories helps me in my own career as well as drives me forward. I love hearing from fellow creatives! What they do, how they overcome obstacles, and more. I also enjoy Blake’s voice and presence! 🙌

The Content/Format: 1 on 1 interview with a top level graphic designer, creative manager, branding expert, author, speaker, or other type of artist. You typically hear about their personal background, what influenced them, how they arrived where they are, etc. Often the dialog centers around a specific project or aspect of their practice. I find the content applies to a lot of marketing roles due to the deeper philosophical nature of many of the interviews. I always learn something. Theme: Courage. Defined as "rejecting indifference in ourselves and others". One question always asks the interviewee to react to that definition. Impressions: The Host, Blake Howard of Matchstic, is a top designer and branding expert in his own right, but he is focused on the interviewee, sharing personal details only as it validates or illustrates the interviewee's POV. It feels very authentic and you often feel inspired or encouraged by the end of the episode.

Love this Podcast and Blake does an amazing job! I love hearing the stories courage from creatives - personal side as well as leadership.
