021 // A Crash Course on How to take Action in Social Justice as a Business Owner

021 // A Crash Course on How to take Action in Social Justice as a Business Owner

In this week's episode of The Creative's Corner Podcast, we're circling back to an IG Live I did last month. This feels reminiscent of last year which means we’re still in a recurring cycle…and we need to talk.
    In this episode, we discusses:

Resources and actions steps you can do as a business owner to take action as you go through the process of learning.

*Firstly, if you are a member of a marginalized group, make sure you are mentally taking care of yourself during these periods. Give yourself boundaries and space to breathe.*

    Action steps:

    Accountability has to occur.
Hold your officials accountable. And use your platforms accordingly. Communicate with your people.
If you have the means to give, start setting aside money in your budget to give to these funds. And share that with your buyers.
Make sure steps 1-3 are happening consistently.

Here are the books I recommend to continue your learning:
    -Hood Feminism
    -Emergent Strategy
-my book Inclusive Strategies for your Coaching Business

020 // My Thoughts on Rachel Hollis and Creating Intersectional Leadership

020 // My Thoughts on Rachel Hollis and Creating Intersectional Leadership

In this week's episode of The Creative's Corner™ Podcast, I’m giving you my thoughts on the Rachel Hollis media spotlight and why learning to be an Intersectional Leader is so important.

This podcast is from an IG Live I did a few days after the “incident” and I need some SPACE to process this. Rachel Hollis needs to do some work, this isn’t news, but what worries me about leaders like her is that large platform. It’s a privilege to have someone work for you to free up your time.

And plenty of people wake up early and work hard all day long but may not have the same amount of prosperity and abundance due to the level of privilege involved.

As a business owner you have to show up as an intersectional human. You have to show up for the people who show up for you. So let’s talk about action steps you can take to be a better leader in business, your home, and your community.

When this episode calls to you, I want to direct you to my workbook, Inclusive Strategies for your Coaching Business.

019 // 5 Mistakes I made in my first year as a Mom-preneur (and why that caused me to take a break from the podcast).

Today I am back and I am getting humble and vulnerable! Sharing 5 of the 8 mistakes I made in my first year as a mom-preneur, and why it caused me to take a break from the podcast. This episode was inspired by this post of the big 8 mistakes, don't miss the full thread!

    In this episode, I discuss:

    - How my business plan didn’t take into account that I am a human being, a mom, and a partner.

    - That You can’t be intimate with your business.

    - I took for granted my partner was there as I built my business, especially with the pandemic, time felt infinite and monotonous.

    - As I grew and scaled my business, my ego also grew.

    - How I convinced myself that my family and partner were the reasons I couldn’t grow as a business owner. Any why I was dead wrong.

And DM me if any of this really resonated with you!
