    Raised by two creatives in Chanute, Kansas, Amanda Malson knew early on that she wanted to create environments for people to enjoy. A few decades (and a college degree in interior design) later, Amanda was working with Kelly Wearstler on high-profile residential and commercial projects. She then partnered with Steve Jones of bettershelter, contributing her vision to Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach and restaurant redesigns including Bear Flag and Jan’s Health Bar. Since 2017, Amanda has helmed her own design firm, Common Standard, where she's created magical, immersive spaces including the Bungalows at Calistoga, The Marina Del Rey Hotel, Coffee Dose, Outpost Kitchen, Tiny Tooth Co., and continues to expand the Jan Health Bar stores.
