DMP #33 - No Spiritual Teachers

DMP #33 - No Spiritual Teachers

A short talk on the nature of teaching the mechanics of the inner arts (such as Qigong, Yoga and Meditation) versus claiming to be a spiritual teacher. The term 'spiritual teacher' is a term Damo does not apply to himself at all and increasingly is a term that he deems less relevant in the wider picture of spiritual cultivation.

DMP #32 - The Yogafication of Qigong

DMP #32 - The Yogafication of Qigong

A follow-up to yesterdays podcast on a comment Damo made concerning the way that Qigong is turning into contemporary Yoga and starting to offer short term teacher training courses of a month, two months or even, horribly, 10 days or shorter! These teacher training certificated courses are being offered online even with no interaction between teacher and student. This is likely to lead to a number of problems, the same problems that have plagued the Yoga world for some time now.

A profound view into the world of internal arts

To get the same degree of classical unadulterated information from an authentic practitioner and initiate of these arts, you'd have to spend a decade in Asia developing trust and relationships with teachers, and putting in the effort of dedicated daily practice to be eligible to receive these teachings. People underestimate the degree of esotericism of these arts in this modern era of new age consumerism. Precious knowledge! Lotus Neigong is the only school in the western world I'm aware of in which the Daoist arts seem to have arrived in any meaningful way without being watered down! Damo’s podcast is an extension of this authenticity and it’s awesome to see its new changes to the setup Bali.
