The Day After | Where grief stories connect us

At The Day After, we believe in the healing power of shared stories. Through our podcast, we create a safe space where individuals can find solace in others' experiences with grief. Having walked this path ourselves, we understand the profound isolation that follows losing a loved one. We're building a compassionate community where every story matters, where healing happens through connection, and where no one faces grief alone. Join us as we navigate loss together, finding strength and understanding in our shared journey.
Ashley and Simba

Thank you to Ashley for sharing her ongoing love for Simba and the complex feelings and pain of losing a soul dog. I had to put my angel baby Belle down after almost 12 years and she was my gift from Heaven, just like Simba she chose me and helped me through my 20’s and 30’s. She require complex care at the end, so hearing Ashley talk about the guilt and love and grief made me feel so much less alone. I hope Simba and Belle are playing together at the rainbow bridge until we meet them again!
Pet Loss Support

This is the first time I’ve written a podcast review but I felt the need to take the time - I stumbled upon this podcast while navigating my own grief journey and found Episode 7, where Ashley shares her heartfelt story about saying goodbye to her beloved dog, Simba. Her words really touched me and resonated deeply, especially as I work through the loss of my English bulldog, Ramsey, who was such a rock in my life. It’s so important to find support during grief, and this podcast provides that space to hear others’ journeys and feel less alone. Thank you, CJ and Ashley, for creating something so meaningful—I’ll definitely be listening to more episodes and am so grateful to have found you.

I started listening to this podcast last year to understand and help my husband through his grief as he had lost his Mother in 2017 and Father in 2023. Now I am re-listening to the episodes again to process my grief from my husband dying at age 36 on 1/29/24. It’s a whole different perspective now but I’m so grateful to listen to people who understand what I am going through.
