We have broken national news on major cases, like the Delphi murders and the Burger Chef murders. We also cover plenty of other subjects, including high-profile murders, cold cases, legal topics within the criminal justice system, restaurant slayings, historical crimes, and wide-ranging interviews with authors and experts. The Murder of Linda Rutledge

On September 29, 2025, authorities had a press conference where they discussed the latest developments in an infamous quadruple murder — the yogurt shop murders — in Austin, Texas. Detective Daniel Jackson of the Austin Police Department mentioned but did not name a 1998 cold case homicide that occurred in Kentucky that they linked to Robert Eugene Brashers. On December 6, 1991, Robert Eugene Brashers is believed to have bound, sexually assaulted, and murdered 17-year-old Jennifer Harbison, 15-year-old Sarah Harbison, 17-year-old Eliza Thomas, and 13-year-old Amy Ayers. Their bodies were found in the burning I Can't Believe It's Yogurt! shop in Austin, Texas. Police also found evidence from a .380 firearm linked to Brashers. Evidence from that same gun also ties into the 1998 Kentucky case. On November 6, 1998, somebody murdered 43-year-old Linda Rutledge. She was killed in her parents' business, the Nixon Hearing Aid Center, shot multiple times. Then the building was set on fire. The Yogurt Shop Murders: Who Is Robert Eugene Brashers?

Austin police linked serial killer Robert Eugene Brashers to the infamous "yogurt shop murders." On December 6, 1991, the bodies of 17-year-old Jennifer Harbison, 15-year-old Sarah Harbison, 17-year-old Eliza Thomas, and 13-year-old Amy Ayers were found in the burning I Can't Believe It's Yogurt! shop. Now, police say Brashers's DNA was found at the crime s scene. Digging in deeper, The Murder Sheet uncovered Brashers's familial tie to yet another murderer, one who engaged in a violent spree in Alabama in 1979. We also obtained records detailing Brashers's criminal history in Florida, including a brutal attack that saw him serve a lenient sentence.
