I’m not even “into fashion” persay, and have NEVER been considered trendy in my life!😂 But this podcast is not just for those into fashion and trends, but also for those who are just fascinated by culture and how it is shaped! Amanda and Kim are a dream duo and do an incredible job researching their content and are hilarious too!! Even when the info is shocking/convicted, it is always a joy to listen!

Being a huge Clotheshorse fan I decided to try out The Department a couple of months ago. And…I discovered my favorite podcast! It’s so good, you guys. Smart, interesting, informative, and funny. The hosts, Amanda and Kim have wonderful rapport and do such a great job. Seriously, I could probably listen to them talk about geometry and enjoy it. Probably. I hated geometry. Anyway, highly recommend for so many reasons. ♥️

I heard about this podcast through another and am enjoying going over all that crazy stuff I had forgotten about! Especially if you’re in the elder millennial age group, this might send you down memory lane. Also I appreciate thinking about all that culture that is changing in Gen Z

It’s refreshing to hear about current trends, the history behind them, and noting current tastemakers in the industry without being sold that this is what we should all be doing. Your reminders that we should all just wear what we like, source it ethically if we can, and wear it as much as we can puts me at ease. ‘Cause honestly, as a Xennial, I’m fine leaving 90’s fashion in the past….but that’s just me.

Just kidding! You two are better than that. I have such a good time listening to your insights on the many trends that I hadn’t given much thought till now. I really enjoyed your 2000s/Aughts origins episodes. I think I will relisten to them too. It was like sitting in at a party and you are hanging out with a few cool friends in the corner and all the sheeple are milling around you all with their pumpkin spice latttes and Uggs. They were special to listen to. Please do an episode or two or 10 on Gen X, pretty please! I come from that era and I can think of so many trends that I think need to be revisted and revived if need be. Well, keep up the amazing work, Amanda and Kim! Love you both 😘

Though it was annoying to hear one of the hosts over glamorize and fawn over the indie sleaze era, it’s nice to have a podcast discuss trend analysis

Really fun listen. I think Kim’s and Amanda’s industry experience definitely helps with their sharp insights on trends, but they’re also just two funny and perceptive people with a lot to say about pop culture. I also appreciate that there’s an anticapitalist undercurrent to the show (or at the very least, they’re consistently skeptical of rampant consumerism, shady marketing practices, and corporate interests.) Not easy to strike that balance on a podcast about trends, pretty refreshing!
