The Things You Keep - Are Keeping Something From You

There is a piece in your closet you glance over every single morning and quietly think, that is not me anymore. You do not wear it or release it. It is not only taking up space in your closet. It is taking up space in your attention, which might be the most expensive thing you own. In this solo episode I share the seasonal closet edit that started as a story I told a room full of women and turned into something much bigger. We look at how your physical space drains your time, money, and energy, why the clutter you stopped seeing still sits on your mental to-do list, and what a study out of UCLA found when researchers measured what women’s homes were doing to their bodies. Then we get to the practice. How to sort and release with gratitude instead of guilt, why the open space you leave behind matters more than anything you put back, and how to design a home, a wardrobe, and eventually a life that agrees with who you are and what you desire. Highlights: [00:00]  Welcome, and the story from the room [00:55]  The first suit, and the small no you give it [03:10]  The closet that was never about square footage [06:30]  It is not just your home, it is your attention [09:00]  The storage room, and what we released [11:30]  The UCLA study, and what it does and does not prove [15:00]  The loop: what you buy, and why [20:30]  The practice: sort, release, and the exhale after [26:00]  Design what goes back in, and the invisible clutter [31:00]  What you can put down, and the invitation New Intro Feb 2026  Connect With Ameera Virani Website: www.ameeravirani.com Instagram: @ameera.virani LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ameeravirani/ Substack The Design Table The Designed Life Weekly Edit If this episode inspired you, please follow the show and leave a review.  Disclaimer The Designed Life with Ameera Virani and all associated content is intended for general informational, educational, and inspirational purposes only. The Payday That Never Came: Redefining Wealth When Success Doesn't Deliver

What happens when the moment that was supposed to define your career finally arrives, you give it everything, and the payday never comes? In this solo episode, Ameera shares the story of chasing a legendary speaker for her family's events business, the sixteen hour days it took to pull off the event of a lifetime, and the financial payout that never arrived. For years she filed that season away as a failure. Then strangers who had been in the room started telling her a completely different story. This conversation is for you if you have ever done everything you were taught to do, checked every box, made the sacrifices, and the result still did not look the way it was supposed to. Ameera walks you through the reframe that changed how she looks at every setback, and the deeper question underneath it: what was the payday actually for? By the end, you will have three reflection questions to sit with and an invitation to redefine what wealth means across every pillar of your life, so the money becomes the servant of the life instead of the objective. I Wrote Her, I Became Her: Danielle Amos on Self-Image and Money

Have you ever hit the goal and still felt broke inside? The income is good, the title looks right on paper, and something in you keeps whispering that there is more. This week, Ameera sits down with Danielle Amos, the Mystic Millionaire Mentor and one of Bob Proctor's direct protegees, who went from over $100,000 in debt to $100,000 months. When Bob asked her on stage what she did, she answered: I wrote her, I became her. Danielle unpacks the difference between identity and self-image, why money carries the strongest childhood programming we inherit, and how to build a debt repayment plan you trust enough to stop checking your bank account on the hour. You will hear the physics exam story that redirected her life, the five dollar daisies she bought while becoming the woman who fills her home with lilies, and what to do when the people around you call your vision delusional. If you have read all the books and your results still have not moved, this conversation explains why. Connect with Danielle Amos on  Instagram @thedanielleamos  Website: danielleamos.co. Let Them Witness You: Why We Hide Our Success From the People We Love

There is a win you have not told anyone about. Maybe a promotion, the best month your business has ever had, or a vision you are almost afraid to say out loud, because saying it might cost you something. In this solo episode of The Designed Life, Ameera Virani names the fear we don't often admit: that if you keep growing, you will outgrow the people you love. So you only offer them the high level summary. "I'm fine, busy as always". You stop sharing the wins, you keep the conversations easy, and you call it humility. Through a childhood memory she has never shared on the show, a striking piece of research called the beautiful mess effect, and one question she cannot stop thinking about, Ameera gets honest about what it costs to keep the highs, the lows and the messy middle to yourself. You will hear why the openness you hide to protect people is the exact thing they would find brave, and why the ones who love you are waiting to celebrate your wins and to hold you through the hard parts, if you would only let them. Here is the part that changes everything: the right people do not feel left behind when you dream bigger. They feel proud. Some feel called higher. All of them feel honoured that you trusted them enough to let them in.  Timestamps [00:00] | The Invitation · “how was your day? fine, busy as always,” and the win you have not shared [03:00] | What We Are Naming · the highlight reel with the highlights taken out, and the three quiet fears [07:30] | The Evidence · the recitation-competition memory, then the partner, the kids, and the friend [13:30] | The Reframe · the beautiful mess effect, why the right people want the whole of you, and the second group [18:30] | The Cost · the celebration and the holding you take from people, and the regret question [23:00] | The Invitation · tell one person one true thing, and let them in [26:30] | Coming Home: The Close · they want to witness you; share this, leave a review, design an exquisite week New Intro Feb 2026  Connect With Ameera Virani Website: www.ameeravirani.com Instagram: @ameera.virani LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ameeravirani/ Substack The Design Table The Designed Life Weekly Edit If this episode inspired you, please follow the show and leave a review.  Disclaimer The Designed Life with Ameera Virani and all associated content is intended for general informational, educational, and inspirational purposes only. The Proof Comes After You Begin with Ashley Lougheed, Founder Girl Time Inc.

Some women wait for the room they want to walk into. Ashley Lougheed built hers. In this episode of The Designed Life, Ameera sits down with the founder of Girl Time Inc., a women’s leadership facilitator, educator, community builder, and bestselling author whose work began with a feeling instead of a solid plan. Ashley shares how she turned a single gathering into a community, a physical space called The Hub, a bestselling book series, and a program that shifts the trajectory of women’s businesses and lives. You will hear how she handled the people who called it an expensive hobby, why she chose to build her own name instead of standing under her father’s or her husband’s, and the practice she returns to every time she wants to quit. This conversation is for women in leadership, women founders, and any woman sensing there is something more for her. Self-worth as a North Star. Community as fuel. Permission you give yourself. You Don't Have to Shrink to Belong - with Zenab Ansari, Founder Saheli Sisterhood

When was the last time you walked into a room and didn’t make yourself smaller? Smaller in your body, your voice, your ambition. In this episode of The Designed Life, Ameera sits down with Zenab Ansari, founder of Saheli Sisterhood, a community for curvy, mid-size, and plus-size South Asian women reclaiming self-love on their own terms. This is a conversation about taking up space. Zenab shares what it took to stop shrinking, the moment clarity arrived and refused to be ignored, and how she learned to run toward fear instead of away from it. Together they get into body confidence, boundaries as self-love, the relationships that shift when you change, and why sisterhood may be the most underrated force in a woman’s life. If you have ever been called too much, too loud, too big, this one is your invitation to roll your shoulders back and walk in fully expressed. Katherine Dudtschak:The Truth She Carried for Fifty Years

Some conversations leave you where they found you. This one will expand your heart and mind. Katherine Dudtschak spent nearly four decades inside one of the largest banks in the world. She served as CEO twice. She led twenty-five thousand people. For almost fifty years, she also carried a truth she’d held since childhood, while building a life that, from the outside, looked exactly right. In this conversation, Katherine walks us through her whole journey: the farm in rural Canada, the intergenerational trauma her German immigrant parents carried, the dyslexic, hyper-curious child who learned early to suppress the feminine essence she’d always known. The climb. The Caribbean CEO seat that broke her heart. The midlife unraveling that cracked her open. The unexpected love that met her on the other side. This episode is for the woman building a life that looks right but feels misaligned. For anyone carrying something quiet she hasn’t told. For the leader ready to lead from wholeness instead of fear.
