Great podcast with interesting perspectives and a lot of humor. You can tell the hosts are knowledgeable and having fun. One of the two mostly likes the movies, and one mostly hates them. My read is that the hater is super creative, and when starting any movie his head spirals into writing his own movie with some of the elements from the film. Then when the movie ends up being its own thing instead of HIS movie, he can’t stand it, and from there the tiniest nitpicks inevitably balloon into huge problems for him. (I’ve caught myself ruining a great film for myself in a similar way.) Yet he still tries hard to mention a few positives if he can. So don’t think of this podcast as a positive review plus a negative one, think of it as a review plus a “what if” movie concept that uses some of the same pieces. Both approaches give lots of interesting things to think about, and plenty of humor! (And there ARE also some movies where the hosts actually agree.)
