The Difference #64 ft. DJ Manuvers

Francisco "Pancho" de Pablo, aka DJ Manuvers, started DJing at the age of 13. What started as a hobby (and excuse to go to parties) became an instrumental part in developing his love for music. In 1999, he officially began his journey into producing. Manuvers made the natural progression from DJ to producer. The evolution went from the man behind the turntables to the man making the music being played on them. In 2000 he started college radio on FIU's 88.1 FM with a show called "Funknotix" Friday Nights, which ran for about 5 years. In 2001, Manuvers became part owner of the now defunct Counterflow Recordings Record label, while also releasing music as a solo artist with the Bontanica del Jibaro imprint. Releasing over 50 titles Counterflow Recordings became critically acclaimed label known for its quality in music, as well as worldwide recognition for art direction. ---Playlist--- SIDE A Intro feat Jayjohero Turn Around Feat. 2. The Difference #63 ft. Meistro & Deep Sang of Sol Power

The Difference #63 ft. Meistro & Deep Sang of Sol Power

Sol Power is a bi-monthly event that takes place at Eighteenth Street Lounge in Washington DC featuring the musical stylings of DJ Stylus, Meistro, Deep Sang and Hermon Farahi on percussion also known as The Sol Power Allstars. The following mix for this episode of The Difference was recorded live at Sol Power. These guys know how to throw down. Bio- Meistro, Deep Sang and DJ Stylus have all spent years immersed in the Washington DC dance music, nightlife and live music scenes, making names for themselves in every niche from underground hip-hop to reggae to electronica. It was only a matter of time before their paths crossed often enough to consider teaming up to do something together. The DJ trio was fortunate enough to connect with percussionist Hermon Farahi, the funk weapon that completes the Sol Power experience. A mutual love for the sounds of the African diaspora was the spark for the crew coming together. The Sol Power selection arsenal draws from samba, salsa, afrobeat, cumbia and other deeply rooted genres as well as their modern electronic versions. Whether it’s a classic Dominican merengue or a driving afro-latin deep house track, Hermon Farahi’s expansive vocabulary of rhythms on percussion binds it all together. The Sol Power All-Stars were in monthly residence from 2009 through 2010 in the bustling Adams Morgan nightlife district of Washington DC and also put together a day long block party to bring Sol Power to an all-ages audience. In November of 2010 the crew moved on to their current residency at the world famous Eighteenth Street Lounge. ---Playlist--- 01...Mofongo (Album mix)...Sven Van Hees 02...Live In The Summer (Bah Samba Calor Mix)...Bah Samba Ft Tasita D'Mour 03...Positive Vibe (Andy Ward Sunshine Groove)...Roy Ayers & Bah Samba 04...Afro Gente...Glenn Underground 05...Schoko Bolla...Rainer Trueby 06...running away reedit Jonny Smart Twisted Soul Collective...Roy Ayers 07...ne te fache pas (whiskey barons edit)...orchestre poly-rythmo 08...Please Don't Leave Me Joanna...Alternative Car Park 09...Sex Machina (Extended Version)...Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel 10...Karam Bani...Buari 11...CALYPSO BLUES REMIX...The GAff/Marvin Gaye 12...Pitchito...Frente Cumbiero 13...Je Ne Bois Pas Beaucoup...Les Ya Toupas du Zaire 14...Soul Makossa...Fania All Stars 15...Sol Clap...Quantic 16...Iaia...Grupo Arambere 17...This Is Not Your Job...Da Lata feat. The Difference #62 featuring Special Guest Suga Shay!

Shaina “SUGA SHAY” Robinson has been an avid radio addict since as far back as she can remember, and when she first got her hands on the internet, she immediately started downloading music. After she learned she could make her own, she dove headfirst into Logic Pro and met Producer Melvin “Chaos” Lewis (of Noizetrip), who also introduced her to the world of DJing. She was first introduced to the Philly club scene through DJ PHSH (Illvibe Collective, SUPERDOPE, Philly). After meeting Regina “Gun$” Garcia and Dirty South Joe, she was given the chance to truly make a career out of her passion for music, and has been making her rounds in Philly ever since. As a resident at Mad Decent Monday, she has had the opportunity to play with the likes of Diplo, A Tribe Called Red, Low Budget, Bonjay, Telephoned, Cubic Zirconia, Jess Jubilee, Dirty South Joe, Flufftronix, DJ Sega, DJ Tim Dolla, and more. A known Bass Head, she has taken the Philly dubstep scene by storm, spinning dubstep in every set and playing major Philly shows with Borgore, Nit Grit and 12th Planet. Currently, she can be seen at her two weekly residencies: Mad Decent Monday at Fluid Nightclub, and Brass Knuckles at PYT every Thursday night, in the Piazza at Schmidt’s. ---Playlist--- U cheated - Deadboy Here 4 U- Deadboy Fogs - Kingdom Every Time - Girl Unit First Flight - The Others 2005 - Excision / Downlink Deep Space - Downlink Snitch - Squarewave Haxx - Medic Overdose - Datsik Sting - Downlink & Datsik Under The Bed - Skeptiks Liquid Stranger - Fist of Fury Wildfire - SBTRKT Who The F**k Are You - Cory Enemy & Dillon Francis IRL (Bok Bok Remix) - Girl Unit Bang Bang - AAA Promises (Skrillex Remix) - Nero The Bass Corner - Vax Dirty Game - Squarewave Hydraulic - Datsik Straat Takki - Munchi Deuces (Dubbel Dutch Remix) - Ciara INTERLEAVE (Kingdom Remix) - WIN WIN Yazzer Tin Air Max - Munchi Kids - Sleigh Bells Shawty Swing My Way (Busted) - heRobust Ooops! - Hudson Mohawke Where Is My Mind? - Pixies War Machine - Reso Everyday (Netsky Remix) - Rusko Blue Steel - Excision / Downlink
