Season 1, Episode 3 — The Mind of Christ

S1E3 — The Mind of Christ What does it actually mean to think like Jesus? Following Christ involves more than changing our behavior. Real transformation begins with the way we think. Our natural perspective is limited by experience, emotion, assumptions, and the world around us—but Scripture calls us to something different: the mind of Christ. In Season 1, Episode 3 of The Discipleship Table Podcast, we explore Philippians 2:5 and Isaiah 55:8–9 and consider how God's way of thinking challenges our own. Having the mind of Christ does not simply mean becoming a “better thinker.” It means learning to approach our decisions, relationships, priorities, and circumstances from a perspective increasingly shaped by Jesus. Central Truth:Transformation does not simply mean thinking better—it means learning to think differently. This Week’s Challenge:Before making a decision this week, pause and ask: “What reflects Christ here?” Instead of immediately responding from emotion, habit, preference, or pressure, intentionally consider how Jesus would shape your response. Scripture in this episode:Philippians 2:5Isaiah 55:8–9 The Discipleship Table Podcast exists to help people understand God’s Word, grow as followers of Jesus, and put biblical truth into practice in everyday life. Season 1, Episode 2 — Truth vs. Lies

Season 1 | Episode 2 — Truth vs. Lies Not everything that feels right is true—and not everything that is true feels easy. We live surrounded by messages about what is right, what will make us happy, who we should become, and how we should live. When those ideas are repeated long enough, they can begin to feel true even when they do not line up with God’s Word. In this episode of The Discipleship Table Podcast, we look at John 8:31–32 and Proverbs 14:12 and ask an important question: How do we recognize the difference between truth and a lie we have simply learned to believe? Jesus connects truth with freedom. That means identifying false beliefs is not merely about being correct—it is part of becoming free to live the life God intends for us. Central Truth:Not everything that feels right is true—and not everything true feels easy. This Week’s Challenge:Identify one belief you have carried that may not agree with Scripture. Write down the lie, then intentionally replace it with biblical truth. Episode 3 - Grace and Joy Part 3 | The Strength That Shows Up Before Circumstances Change

Welcome to The Discipleship Table, a ministry of Mission Point Community Church of God in Havelock, NC. Whether you’re watching on YouTube, listening on the podcast, or joining us during a quiet moment in your day, we’re grateful to have you with us. In this episode, we continue our teaching on joy — not happiness, not temporary excitement, but the kind of joy that shows up before circumstances change. When life feels heavy, joy can seem distant or even unrealistic. Yet Scripture shows us that joy is not rooted in comfort or stability, but in God’s presence, God’s promises, and a faith that trusts He is already at work. Download the Discussion Guide Here! http://www.missionpointhavelock.church/uploads/1/4/7/1/147126517/joy_discussionguide_2026.pdfIn today’s devotional, we explore: 1️⃣ What Joy Really IsJoy is not the celebration of what has already happened — it is the expectation of what God has promised. Like the wise men who rejoiced when they saw the star, joy often rises before fulfillment arrives. 2️⃣ Where Joy Comes FromJoy flows from God’s presence, not from perfect circumstances. As faith grows through time spent with Him, joy is produced naturally — not forced. 3️⃣ Joy and Receiving God’s WordJesus reminds us that joy can enter the moment we truly receive God’s Word. Often, joy arrives at the point of surrender, not after everything is resolved. 4️⃣ The Resilience of JoyJoy and grief can exist together. Jesus promises a joy that cannot be taken from us — a joy that remains when we stay connected to Him, even in seasons of waiting or pain. 5️⃣ A Closing Prayer for Strength and EnduranceThis episode ends with encouragement and prayer for those who are tired, grieving, or still waiting — reminding us that joy remains because God is present and faithful. Joy is not pretending everything is okay.Joy is trusting that God still is. 📣 If this teaching encouraged you:👍 Like the episode💬 Share a prayer request or testimony🔔 Subscribe for weekly devotionals, Bible teaching, and discipleship conversations There’s always a seat for you at The Discipleship Table. 💒 Mission Point Community Church of GodHelping the hurting and the hungry find healing and fullness in Jesus Christ.🌐 Learn more: www.missionpointhavelock.church © 2025 Mission Point Community Church of God.All rights reserved.
