Matthew Bocchi on Losing His Father on 9/11

Matthew Bocchi on Losing His Father on 9/11

Brace for some tears in this episode. Matthew Bocchi was just nine years old when he lost his father in the attacks on 9/11.
He's just come out with a new book titled Sway, which recounts his personal journey in coping with the trauma surrounding his father's death. As a teenager searching for answers, an older man took advantage of his vulnerability and sexually assaulted him. Matthew descended into the depths of a drug addiction to numb the pain.
Matt and I discuss trauma and healing and how he is able to maintain a positive outlook on life despite so many bad things happening.

Nils Parker on Ghostwriting, Humor, and Storytelling

Nils Parker on Ghostwriting, Humor, and Storytelling

Nils Parker can't even count how many books he's ghostwritten. I asked him and he estimated between 15 and 20. His books have been NYT and WSJ bestsellers many times over. As an editor he has worked with authors like Ryan Holiday, Tucker Max, and James Altucher (and many more) on every aspect of their books.

Nils was originally supposed to be a lawyer. But after a semester of law school and a summer position, he decided that the courtroom was not his true calling. His whole life trajectory changed when he stumbled across a forum created by Tucker Max, who would go on to become a multiple-time NYT bestselling author. That meeting launched him down a path that would change the course of his life forever.

Deep Dives into Risk Taking

Taking risks are things that we tend to avoid at some level. This podcast is amazing and opens your mind to experiences you can envision yourself doing. It is great to learn about a lot of the things out there that we can do to step outside of our comfort zone. Nice Job Rollie!!

Perfect Podcast for COVID Times

Love hearing all the interviews. Most people were leading “average” or “normal” lives and then decide to do something amazing, which is so inspirational! When we are all not allowed to travel the world, it helps feed the wanderlust and gets you excited for when the world opens again. Would just love to see more woman’s stories represented. 💪🏼💃❣️
