EP159 Stop Waiting for Your Future Self. She’s Not Coming.

Send us Fan Mail What if the woman you're waiting to be isn't coming? That isn’t because you're incapable of being her. Not at all. But because you were never supposed to wait for her in the first place. I'm recording this episode exhausted, emotional and still trying to process what happened last week at the very first Be You Now, my identity reinvention event for founders and business owners. Six months ago, I was still employed full-time, carrying huge responsibility in that role and preparing for surgery on an arm that had already been broken for 9 months. And on Friday, I stood on a stage in London at an event I'd created, teaching my own frameworks and intellectual property, surrounded by extraordinary speakers, partners and a room full of people who had trusted me enough to buy a ticket and be part of it. The really f*****g mad part? Be You Now went from launch to event in just over six weeks. And somewhere in the aftermath, I realised something. I wasn't simply teaching identity reinvention on Friday. I was living and breathing it. Be You Now was one enormous Identity Experiment. And I was my own evidence. The problem with Future Her I love a bit of future-self work, don’t get me wrong. Visualisation. Rehearsal. Imagining the woman you want to be, the business you want to build and the life you want to live. But the problem is that we can make Future Her so damn separate from who we are now that she becomes another destination. When I earn more, I'll be her. When I'm more confident, I'll be her. When I've healed, I'll be her. When I've got the qualification, I'll be her. When somebody invites me onto the stage, I'll be her. When somebody else tells me I'm ready... Then… And meanwhile, we wait. But your Designed Future Self isn't going to ring your doorbell one random day next summer and announce that she's finally arrived. You don't arrive at an identity. You build one. And you build it through evidence. Friday became a living demonstration of that idea. Throughout Be You Now, we explored identity through health, success, nervous-system regulation, money, boundaries, visibility, business, self-recognition and the willingness to actually act on what we know. Because you can understand every single one of your patterns. And still keep doing the same f*****g thing. Awareness isn't transformation until it becomes behaviour. Identity changes when you make a different decision. When you uphold a different standard. When you send the email. Say no. Say yes. Raise the price. Apply for the thing. Eat your f*****g lunch. Let somebody help you. Or, apparently, create your first event in six bloody weeks. And apparently, I have another Identity Gap... Because I'm not teaching any of this from some imaginary identity mountaintop. Friday showed me my own next piece of work. Receiving. I explain my own gap in the episode! So where is YOUR Identity Gap? You probably already know a lot about the person you want to be. The question is, where aren't you being them? Maybe you want to lead like a CEO, but you're still operating like an overwhelmed employee. Maybe you want to be known, but you're hiding. Maybe you say you want wealth, but avoid your finances. Maybe you value your time but continually breach your own boundaries. Maybe your health is supposedly important while your body permanently gets whatever is left over. Maybe you know exactly what you want to do, but you're waiting for confidence before you'll let yourself do it. That's the gap. And that's where the work is. The Identity EDIT This is exactly why I've created The Identity EDIT, my new eight-week live identity reinvention programme. We're going to identify the biggest Identity Gap between who you know you want to be and how you're actually living now. Then we're going to close it. And importantly, The Identity EDIT isn't only about business. Your gap might be in your business, yes. But it could equally be in your health, relationships, money, confidence, boundaries, visibility, self-care or the thing you've been promising yourself you'll do for the last three years. Because you don't need another year of knowing who you could be. You need to start creating evidence of who you are. In this episode, you'll hear: Why Be You Now became my own real-time Identity Experiment The danger of putting your future self permanently in the futureWhat I mean by the Identity GapWhy awareness alone doesn't create transformationHow your standards and everyday behaviours reinforce identityWhat Friday taught me about my own difficulty with receiving supportWhy visibility is fundamentally an identity issueWhat health, money, boundaries and business operations can reveal about who you believe you have to beWhy a wobble doesn't mean your new identity is wrongHow to create evidence rather than waiting for confidenceHow The Identity EDIT will help you identify and close the biggest gap in your own life or businessAnd perhaps most importantly: Stop waiting for her. She's not coming to rescue you. And that's f*****g brilliant news. Because it means you don't have to wait. Be her now. Join The Identity EDIT If this episode has made you realise exactly where your Identity Gap is, The Identity EDIT is where we're going to work on closing it. Eight weeks. Real-life experiments. Real evidence. Real change. Because you don't find yourself. You design her. And you don't design her by describing her. You design her by creating evidence. 🔥 DOWNLOAD RESOURCES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 📚 EDIT YOUR LIFE: No BS Reinvention Journal on Amazon 🩷

EP158 You Are the Ceiling: Identity, Operations & Radical Alignment with Jodie Hayward

Send us Fan Mail What happens when the business you've built looks successful from the outside... but feels completely wrong to live inside? In this episode of The Reinvention Era, I'm joined by the fabulous Jodie Hayward for a conversation that sits right at the intersection of two things we so often treat as completely separate: Who we are and how we operate. Jodie works where identity meets operations, helping ambitious founders and business owners create both the structure to scale and the self-concept to match it. And she knows what happens when those two things fall out of alignment. After building a multi-six-figure business largely through referrals, Jodie realised she'd created what she describes as a “golden cage”. The business looked successful, but it couldn't operate without her, her life had to fit around it, and the freedom she'd originally gone into business to create had disappeared. Eventually, she took the whole thing apart. And what followed became the foundation of the work she now calls Radical Alignment. We talk about what happens when your identity and your business are pulling in different directions, why better systems won't solve an identity problem, and why identity work without the operational structure to support it can simply create another route to burnout. We also get into the ways your identity subtly shows up inside your business: delegation, people pleasing, overcomplication, procrastination, boundaries, visibility, the need for validation and that lovely little habit of convincing yourself you need another system, SOP or bit of preparation before you're finally allowed to bloody move! Jodie talks brilliantly about the fear underneath so much of this, particularly the fear of being judged for succeeding differently, and shares one of my favourite lines from the whole conversation: “Failure is foreplay for freedom.” YES. We also talk about why so many founders accidentally create a job rather than a business, why constant hustle can feel productive while getting us absolutely nowhere, and what freedom in business actually means when it's not simply about buggering off and doing whatever you want all day. And, unsurprisingly, we end up somewhere I'm deeply passionate about too: There comes a point where understanding why you are the way you are isn't enough. At some point, you have to stop endlessly looking backwards, make a decision about who you're going to be and take the action that gives you evidence of that identity. Which feels particularly appropriate because, as this episode lands, Jodie and I are together in London continuing this conversation live on stage at Be You Now. In this episode, we talk about identity, operations, Radical Alignment, self-trust, fear of judgement, people pleasing, business structure, freedom, evidence, evolution and what it really takes to build a business that actually fits the person running it. If you've ever looked at your business and thought, I've built this thing... but I'm not sure I actually want to live inside it, this conversation is for you. Find Jodie Jodie would genuinely love to hear from you, so please go and say hello on Instagram. As she says in the episode, she's a real human and she's the one who'll actually reply 😂 Instagram: https://instagram.com/the_jodiehayward/ 🔥 DOWNLOAD RESOURCES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 📚 EDIT YOUR LIFE: No BS Reinvention Journal on Amazon 🩷

EP157: When Did Doing It Properly Become Doing It the Hard Way?

Send us Fan Mail What if the reason you keep making things harder than they need to be has absolutely f*ck all to do with having ‘high standards’? What if somewhere along the way, you actually learned that things only really count if they're bloody difficult? This week I'm sharing something very real and live from my own identity work. A conversation with one of my mentors uncovered a pattern I just hadn't seen before: my lifelong need to "do things properly" might actually be tied to achievement, difficulty and ultimately... worth. Because if achievement has become one of the ways you prove you're good enough, perhaps the achievement needs to be sufficiently difficult for the proof to count. F*ck. In this episode, I'm exploring this in real time. No perfectly packaged breakthrough or five-step solution. I'm still right in the bloody middle of it! We talk about: • Why "doing it properly" and "doing it the hard way" aren't necessarily the same thing • What happens when achievement stops being something you do and starts telling you something about who you are • Why being incredibly good at surviving hard things can become part of your identity • The uncomfortable difference between purpose and proof • How money, success, visibility and ambition can quietly become scoreboards for our worth • Why our motivations don't need to be perfectly pure, but we do need to notice who's driving • The questions I'm now asking myself about what I'd choose if there was absolutely nothing left to prove • Why reinvention doesn't always have to start with everything falling apart Because maybe you don't need another mountain to prove you're brilliant at climbing. Maybe desire is enough. Maybe curiosity is enough. Maybe simply thinking, I'd quite like something different now, is enough. And maybe the next version of you doesn't need to become even better at surviving the hard road. Maybe she needs to learn that the flat road counts too. BE YOU NOW This episode also gets right to the heart of why I've created Be You Now, my identity reinvention event for founders and business owners happening in London on Friday 4th September. You can have the strategies, plans, funnels, systems and colour-coded f*****g spreadsheets in the world. But you take yourself into all of them. Your identity. Your beliefs. Your patterns. Your relationship with money, visibility, leadership and success. And sometimes the thing influencing what you build next is something you can't even see yet. That's the room we're creating at Be You Now. Friday 4th September 2026 London Find out more and join us here: BE YOU NOW  Come and find me If this episode hit somewhere slightly uncomfortable, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. EP156 Are You Scared of Failure… or Being Seen Trying?

Send us Fan Mail What if you’re not actually scared of failing? What if you’re scared of people seeing you try... and then watching it not work? Because I think there’s actually quite a big difference. Failing privately is one thing. Abso-f*cking-lutely. But, saying out loud I want this, putting your hand up, launching the thing, changing career, starting the business, writing the book, going after the stage, dating again or admitting that you want something more... and then letting people WATCH you go for it? That’s a whole other level of vulnerability. And I think this becomes particularly uncomfortable when you’ve spent years being known as the competent and successful powerhouse. The woman who knows exactly what she’s doing. Because reinvention has an annoying habit of turning experts back into beginners. Suddenly you don’t know all the answers. You’re learning really bloody publicly. You might post something nobody engages with. Launch something that doesn’t sell. Apply and get rejected. Change your mind. Get something spectacularly wrong. And other people might see it. In this episode of The Reinvention Era, I’m talking about the fear underneath the fear of failure. The fear of judgement, embarrassment and what an unsuccessful attempt might mean about you. I’m talking about why potential can feel so bloody safe, because nobody can criticise something you never actually tried. Why perfectionism can sometimes be fear with a crown on. Why we create imaginary judging panels full of old colleagues, exes, friends, family and random women on Instagram who probably aren’t thinking about us at all. And why identity reinvention requires something most of us don't talk about enough: the willingness to be seen becoming a beginner again. Because you can journal to the endth degree about your next identity. Visualise her. Create the vision board. Work out what she believes, wears, wants and tolerates. But eventually? She has to leave the f*cking house. She has to make the decision. Ask for the money. Post the post. Apply for the thing. Say no. Say yes. Launch. Leave. Begin again. Tell somebody what she actually wants. That’s when identity design becomes real. I’m also sharing what this has looked like for me while very publicly building my first Be You Now event, with absolutely no ability to control the final outcome. Maybe the goal isn’t to become so confident that you know you’ll succeed. Maybe confidence is being willing to say: I want this. I believe in this. I’m going for it. Even when you have absolutely no f*cking guarantee about how it ends. Because yes, some things won't work. Somebody might judge you. You might change your mind. You might occasionally look like a bit of a dick. But the alternative is keeping your potential pristine, untouched and safely wrapped in plastic while your actual life passes by. Let them see you try. They get an opinion. They don't get a vote. EP155 The Identity Required to Play a Bigger Game

Send us Fan Mail We all love the idea of playing a bigger game don’t we? The bigger business. The book. The stage. The visibility. The opportunities. The money. The impact. We put it on the vision board, write down the goals and decide we're bloody well going for it. And then the game actually starts. Suddenly there are other people on the board. Decisions you weren't expecting. Rejection. Uncertainty. Things going wrong. Opportunities arriving at spectacularly inconvenient times. Bills that apparently require the GDP of a small country. And the identity that was perfectly capable of handling the life you had is suddenly being asked to handle a life she's never lived before. That's where the real identity work begins. In this episode of The Reinvention Era, I'm talking about what it actually takes to play a bigger game when you can't control how the game unfolds. I'm also sharing what happened during a recent HorsePower VIP day with Jenni Winter-Leach, where a few horses gave me a rather confronting demonstration of something I talk about all the time: Leadership isn't something you announce. It's something that's felt. We talk about: Why growth often exposes the identity that created your previous successThe difference between control and self-leadershipWhy high-performing women can be brilliant at leading everyone except themselvesWhat horses taught me about congruence, trust and outsourcing our certaintyWhy your old coping strategies can get LOUDER as your world expandsThe high-functioning trap of being busy, useful, perfect and indispensableWhy increased capacity doesn't mean learning to tolerate more shitThe difference between urgency and importanceWhy your Designed Self can't come with evidence, because she's never existed beforeAnd the one question to ask when you're overwhelmed by everything happening on the board: What's my next move?Because the Queen might be the most powerful piece on the chessboard. But none of that power means a damn thing while she's sitting safely in the box. At some point, you've got to get in the f*****g game. BE YOU NOW If this episode feels uncomfortably familiar, this is exactly the conversation we're taking into the room at Be You Now: The Identity Reinvention Event for Founders & Business Owners. 📍 Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge 📅 Friday 4th September 2026 This isn't another day about cramming more strategies into your already-overloaded brain. We're talking identity. Leadership. Visibility. Systems. Self-trust. The people around you. The decisions you're making. What you've outgrown and who your life and business actually need you to be now. No weird cliquey networking bollocks. Come on your own. Come without having it all figured out. Come as you are. Get off the sidelines. Get on the board. 🎟️ Get your ticket here Join my email list And if you'd like details about Jenni Winter-Leach's HorsePower VIP experiences, drop me a message and I'll connect you with her. 🔥 DOWNLOAD RESOURCES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 📚 EDIT YOUR LIFE: No BS Reinvention Journal on Amazon 🩷

EP154 Have We Forgotten How To Feel Alive? | With Sally Berg of Mature Eros

Send us Fan Mail What if the biggest thing missing from your life isn't confidence, motivation or another morning routine... What if you've simply become disconnected from yourself? In this powerful conversation, I'm joined by the brilliant Sally Berg, founder of Mature Eros, embodiment mentor and self-proclaimed Queen of Pleasure. Together we explore what happens when high-achieving women spend years leading everyone else while slowly losing connection with their own bodies, boundaries and joy. This absolutely is NOT a conversation about sex. It's a conversation about aliveness. About nervous system regulation. About why so many women in midlife feel exhausted, disconnected and stuck in survival mode, and why the way back isn't through doing more, but through reconnecting with yourself. We also explore why menopause might not be a malfunction to manage, but a metamorphosis to embrace. In this episode we discuss: • Why so many high-achieving women become disconnected from their bodies. • The surprising link between stress, cortisol and many of the symptoms we blame on menopause. • Why pleasure has very little to do with sex and everything to do with feeling fully alive. • The impact of decades spent pushing, performing and putting everyone else first. • How nervous system regulation changes the way we lead, love and live. • Why women don't need to become stronger... they need to become softer within themselves. • The connection between identity, embodiment and self-abandonment. • How simple daily practices can help you reconnect with yourself. One of my favourite moments in this conversation is when Sally says: "Women don't need to become stronger. For f**k's sake, we're strong enough." I couldn't agree more. Whether you're navigating perimenopause, menopause, rebuilding after burnout or simply wondering why life feels flat despite everything you've achieved, this episode is an invitation to stop pushing and start listening to the wisdom your body has been trying to share all along. Resources mentioned ✨ Sally's free Revive & Restore Embodied Meditation 📱 Follow Sally on Instagram  If this conversation resonated with you, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaway. And if you're a woman who's realised you've spent years leading everyone else while forgetting to lead yourself, you'll probably love what we're building inside the Queen of Reinvention community too. EP153 The Room You're In Is Creating Your Future

Send us Fan Mail This week on the Reinvention Era, we're talking about something that most people completely overlook... The rooms you choose. And I’m not just talking about the physical spaces, but also the conversations, the people, the energy and the standards you surround yourself with every day. Because those things are never neutral. They either reinforce the identity you've always had or they invite you into the woman you're capable of being. In this episode I share what happened after hosting a private dinner with some incredible female business owners, why abundance always beats competition, and why your environment has a bigger influence on your future than another morning routine ever will. We also dive into: • Why identity is contagious. • How your environment subtly shapes your decisions. • Why some people become really damn uncomfortable when you grow. • The difference between changing your habits and changing your identity. • Why the right conversations can completely change what's possible for your life. • How to become intentional about the rooms you choose. If you've been feeling stuck, uninspired or like you've outgrown the people around you, this episode might explain why. Remember... You don't find yourself. You design her. Ready for a different room? If you'd love to experience this in real life, I'd absolutely love you to join us at Be You Now, my live identity reinvention event in London on 4 September 2026. It's a day designed to challenge your thinking, introduce you to incredible humans and remind you what's possible when you're surrounded by people who see your future instead of your past. And if you're worried about coming on your own, please message me. I'll make sure you're looked after. Some of the best conversations start because you were brave enough to walk into the room. If you have any questions BEFORE 5 August - on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at 7.30 BST I’m hosting a Zoom Room to go all in on behind the scenes. EP152: You’re Brilliant at Leading Everyone… Except Yourself

Send us Fan Mail You lead your team. Your house. Your clients. Your family. Your children. Sometimes, it feels like you’re leading every bloody person you come into contact with (even if you don't actually know them!) But when was the last time you properly led yourself? In this week’s episode, I’m talking about the subtle leadership crisis so many capable, high-achieving people don’t even realise they’re in. Because there’s a HUGE difference between managing yourself and leading yourself. You can manage your diary, your inbox, your deadlines and everybody else’s expectations while completely abandoning the person underneath it all. And the most dangerous part? Survival doesn’t always look like struggling. Sometimes it looks organised, productive, respected and incredibly successful. It just also looks f*cking exhausted. In this episode, I explore: Why high achievers become brilliant at copingThe difference between self-management and self-leadershipHow success can disguise survivalWhy your business can’t outgrow the identity leading itThe question I return to whenever life gets difficult: Who do I choose to be?Why leadership eventually has to come home to youI also share some very exciting news. Tickets are officially on sale for: Be You Now The Identity Reinvention Event for Founders & Business Owners Taking place on Friday 4 September 2026 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge, this is a full-day live event for founders, business owners and leaders who know their next level requires more than another strategy. Because your business won’t outgrow your confidence, courage, standards, visibility or willingness to make difficult decisions. Eventually, every business bumps into the identity of the person leading it. Book your ticket here And while you’re here, come and find me: Instagram LinkedIn Facebook         Website The question I want you to sit with after this episode is: Where have I become so busy leading everyone else that I’ve forgotten to lead myself? Because the greatest act of leadership isn’t leading a team. It’s refusing to abandon yourself while you’re doing it. And you do not have to stay who you’ve always been.
