EP140 The High-Functioning Trap: Why Success Still Feels Empty

Send us Fan Mail You’re the one who gets sh*t done aren’t you? Whether it’s because you’re the capable one, or the reliable one, or just generally the one that everyone looks at and thinks…’ooooh, she’s got her life together.’ And to be fair… you do, right? So explain this. Why do you feel so f*cking exhausted all the time? Why does it permanently feel like something is slightly off? Why does success not quite feel the way you’d thought it would? This episode is where we go in on your Survival Self. The version of you that didn’t just inherit beliefs… but adapted, performed, and built a whole goddamn life from them. The one who learned: what gets approvalwhat avoids criticismwhat keeps you safewhat makes you belongAnd then became very, very bloody good at it. The problem? That version of you was designed only for safety and approval. Not for freedom. Not for fulfilment either. And most definitely NOT for the life you’d consciously choose now. Inside this episode, you’ll start to notice: Why high-functioning women still feel disconnectedThe subtle ways you’re still proving (without realising)How over-performing, perfectionism and control are actually survival patternsWhy achieving more doesn’t fix the feelingAnd the identity shift that actually changes thingsBecause you’re not stuck. You’re just still being the version of you that worked. This is the second part of the identity series: Last week: The Inherited SelfThis week: The Survival SelfNext week: The Sovereign Self (the Queen version of you underneath all of this)If this is hitting something in you, you’ll want to go deeper with it. My Edit Your Life: No Bullsh*t Reinvention Journal is designed to help you actually work through these patterns and start designing and installing your next-level identity. And if you’re ready to go all in on this work at a much, MUCH deeper level, I’ve opened a limited number of VIP Identity Reinvention spaces for May. EP139 The Inherited Self: The Identity Running Your Life (Without You Knowing)

Send us Fan Mail Just as an FYI, you don’t have a motivation problem. Or a motivation problem either. And you definitely don’t need another podcast, book, or morning routine to “fix” yourself. What you actually have…Is an identity that was handed to you…  …and you never questioned it. You say, ‘this is just who I am’ But is it? Is it really? Or is it instead: what you were taughtwhat you watchedwhat kept you acceptedwhat stopped you getting rejectedBecause the thing is, you’re trying to build a next-level life… from a version of you that was designed to keep you safe, small, and acceptable. That’s why: You overthink decisions you’re more than capable of making. You hold yourself back in rooms you’ve already outgrown. You feel like you should be happier than you are.You keep circling the same patterns… even though you know better. And the maddest part? You think it’s bloody you. Spoiler: it’s abso-f*cking-lutely NOT. It’s your inherited self. The beliefs you didn’t choose. The rules you never questioned. The version of you that learned very early on: “Be this… and you’ll be okay” And it worked, didn't it? It got you here. But it’s also the exact thing keeping you from where you actually want to go next. So if you’ve been sitting there thinking: “Why does my life feel off when everything looks right?” “Why do I keep holding back when I know I’m capable of more?” “Why can’t I just be the woman I know I could be?” This is the episode you need. Because once you see this… You won’t be able to unsee it. Inside this episode, you’ll start to clock: the beliefs you’ve been living by that aren’t even yoursthe invisible rules that have been quietly running your lifethe exact moments your identity pulls you back into playing smallwhy “this is just who I am” is usually complete bullshitand the first step to taking your power back (properly)This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about realising… you’ve been living inside an identity you never consciously chose. And once you see that? You get to decide what stays… and what doesn’t come with you into your next chapter. If something in your life feels off right now… Don’t skip this one. This is where it starts. 👑 P.S. EP138 The Hidden Cost of Becoming Her

Send us Fan Mail There’s this part of reinvention that no one really tells you about OR prepares you for. It’s not the breakdown itself that led to the reinvention…. Or even the rebuild that follows. It’s what happens after… When your life still looks the same on the outside. But inside, something has shifted so deeply, you can’t unfeel it. You know the vibe right? You’re sitting in a conversation you used to enjoy… Same people. Same jokes. Same topics. But now? It feels flat AF and SO forced. Almost like you’re watching yourself from the outside thinking, “Why does this feel so… small now?” In this episode, I’m talking about the part of reinvention that makes high-performing, self-aware women question themselves: “Is it me? Am I becoming too much?” Because when you start evolving your identity, your standards shift. And suddenly: The chaos you used to tolerate feels exhaustingThe conversations you used to laugh at feel drainingThe roles you used to play feel… tightAnd it feels so weird. But it’s purely because you’ve changed. In the episode, I break down: Why reinvention doesn’t just change you; it changes how you fit everywhere elseThe real reason people struggle with your growth (and it’s not what you think)The identity “thermostat” effect (or what I call the Queen-o-stat) and how it silently governs your standardsWhy your nervous system starts rejecting things you used to tolerateAnd how to recognise when you’re not “too much”… you’re just in the wrong environmentThis is the episode for the woman who looks like she’s got her life together… But feels like she doesn’t quite belong in it anymore. The one who’s done the work… But now feels disconnected, unsettled, and quietly wondering what the next era actually looks like. Because this isn’t you failing at reinvention. This is you outgrowing the version of life that was built for who you used to be. And that? That’s where everything changes Queen 👑 P.S. EP137 The Ultimate Queen Move: Nobody’s Coming to Save You

Send us Fan Mail This episode is about something that used to really piss me off when people said it to me. 'Take responsibility for your life' Because when you're hurting like hell, when you've been through trauma, loss, betrayal, burnout or any other big life transitions, the absolute last thing you want to hear is someone telling you to "stop feeling sorry for yourself" But what I’ve come to understand through my own reinvention journey is that, radical responsibility isn’t at all about blame. It isn’t about shame either. And it definitely isn’t about saying what happened to you was your fault. It’s about something way more powerful than that. It’s about deciding that even if it wasn’t your fault… it is still your life. In this episode I share how I had to stop giving my power away after my divorce, how staying in victimhood was keeping me stuck, and why the biggest turning point in my life wasn’t when circumstances improved; it was when I stopped waiting for someone or something else outside of me to change my life. Because nobody is coming to save you. And strangely enough… that’s the best f*cking news you’ll ever hear. Because it means you can save yourself 👑 In this episode I talk about: • What radical responsibility really means (and what it doesn’t) • Why high-performing women often take responsibility for everyone except themselves • The difference between your inherited self and your survival self • Why blaming the past keeps you emotionally tied to it • How taking responsibility gives you your power back • Why reinvention starts with identity, not behaviour • The questions that help you start leading yourself again The most important truth from this episode: You are NOT responsible for what happened to you.  But you are responsible for what happens next. And the moment you take radical responsibility, you stop being the woman life happens to… and become the woman who leads herself. Reinvention doesn’t begin when life gets easier. It begins when you decide: I’m leading myself now. 🩷 If this episode resonated, I’d genuinely love to hear from you. Drop me a message and tell me where you’re choosing yourself and taking your power back. And as always… Crown on, Queen 👑 P.S. EP136: Reinvention Starts When You Stop Trying to Fit In

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, I’m sharing something that really landed for me while I was forced to slow down after my arm surgery (which, if you know me, you’ll know doesn’t come naturally!) When I stopped doing, I started seeing. And what I noticed was just how much we all follow the crowd… even when we say we want to stand out. I talk about why our brains are wired for belonging rather than individuality, how we inherit identities we never consciously chose, and why so many high-performing women reach a point where the life they built no longer feels like it fits. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve got your life together on paper but still feel a bit disconnected from yourself… this one’s for you. In this episode I talk about: -Why fitting in once kept us safe (and why your brain still thinks it does) - How childhood conditioning shapes the identity you think is “you” -The difference between the inherited self, the survival self and the designed self -Why so many brilliant women stay stuck in survival mode -How reinvention really begins (and why it’s not about fixing yourself) Some questions I invite you to think about: -Where might I be fitting in rather than being myself? -What parts of me are survival patterns rather than who I really am?  -Who would I be if I trusted myself more?  -Is there something I’ve always wanted to do but haven’t because it might make me stand out? The biggest takeaway from this episode: Reinvention isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about recognising what parts of you were built for survival… and deciding what parts of you get to lead now. Because you were never meant to just fit in. You were meant to become. Mentioned in this episode: My EDIT Your Life: No BS Reinvention Journal a 12-week guided process to help you consciously design the next version of you. And if this episode resonated with you: Share it with another woman who might need this reminder too. We rise faster when we stop trying to do this alone. 👑 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP135: You’re Not Failing at Change. You’re Just Driving Your Life on Autopilot

Send us Fan Mail Most women think they’re completely failing at change, and f*cking it up altogether. They’re not. They’re just trying to build a new life with an old identity and, in doing so, living on autopilot. In this episode I’m talking about why reinvention feels so bloody hard… especially when you’re a high-performing woman who’s used to being the one who just gets on with it. Because the thing is, you can’t mindset your way out of an identity that no longer fits.  You can’t discipline yourself into becoming someone new. And you definitely can’t create your next era while running the survival software that built your last one. Using a simple driving analogy (yes, really), I break down why you feel stuck, why change hasn’t lasted before, and the one thing that actually makes reinvention work. This isn’t about motivation. This is about who is in the driving seat of your life. In this episode: 👑 Why change fails when identity stays the same 👑 The hidden autopilot running your decisions 👑 Why capable women feel secretly disconnected 👑 The real starting point of reinvention 👑 How to stop starting over and actually become someone new If this is you: You look like you’ve got your shit together. On the outside at least. But privately? You feel flat AF. Restless. Done with just “coping”. Just all a bit ‘meh’, and ready for your next identity. Reinvention isn’t about fixing yourself (spoiler: you’re not broken). It’s about deciding who leads next. Your question to think about after listening: Am I trying to change my life… without changing who I am being? If you do want lessons on changing your life, why not try out the 12-week plan to drive forward your reinvention? This part hype-book, part reset, part loving b*tch slap guided journal is like a crash course in reinvention 😀 Check it out on Amazon here: EDIT Your Life: No BS Reinvention Journal 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP134: Why You Have Nothing to Wear (Even When Your Wardrobe Is Full)

Send us Fan Mail We’ve all been there. You open your wardrobe. It’s full. Rails completely crammed with clothes. Dresses you forgot you owned (maybe even with the label still on it). Jeans in three different “goal weights.” The blazer you bought for the promotion in your last job. The hoodie from the heartbreak season you just wanted to disappear. And yet the thought appears: I’ve got absof*ckinglutely NOTHING to wear. Not because you don’t have options, because clearly, you have plenty.  But because none of them feel like you anymore. In this episode of The Reinvention Era, we’re talking about something that might sound superficial on the surface: your wardrobe. But this isn’t really about clothes. It’s about identity. Because your wardrobe is WAY more than a collection of outfits. It’s an archive of every version of yourself you’ve ever been. Every hanger holds a story. The suit from the career chapter. The dress from before the diagnosis. The jeans from before the baby. The clothes from the version of you who was surviving, proving, hiding or trying to belong. None of them are wrong. But some of them belong to a woman who doesn’t lead your life anymore. And reinvention begins when you recognise that. In this episode we talk about: Why feeling like you have “nothing to wear” is often an identity signalThe psychology of enclothed cognition and how clothing influences behaviourWhy high-performing women often build wardrobes that are practical but no longer expressiveHow clothes become emotional artefacts from previous life chaptersWhy reinvention sometimes starts with something as simple as a wardrobe editHow to start dressing for the identity you’re stepping into nextThis conversation explores: wardrobe declutters as reinvention ritualsthe emotional weight of clothingseasonal identity shiftsdressing for your “Alter Queen” identityhow confidence is built through embodied behaviourBecause reinvention doesn’t only happen in your journal or in a meditation. Sometimes it starts in front of your wardrobe 👗 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP133: Why Successful Women Stay Too Long in Jobs, Marriages and Identities

Send us Fan Mail You’ve built a life.  The career. The marriage. The house. The reputation. The identity that everyone recognises you by. From the outside it looks solid AF. Successful. Impressive even. But inside? You’re secretly questioning….. Is this it? In this episode, I’m going all in on one of the most powerful psychological traps that keeps high-performing women stuck way too long after something has stopped fitting them. The sunk cost fallacy. It sounds like something from a business textbook, right? But in reality it’s subtly  shaping the biggest decisions of your life. Because when you’ve invested years… sometimes decades… into something, walking away doesn’t just feel difficult. It feels like admitting it was all a huge f*cking mistake. But the thing is. The real cost isn’t the time. The real cost isn’t the money. The real cost is identity. In this episode we unpack why intelligent, capable, successful women stay loyal to roles, relationships, careers and routines long after they’ve outgrown them. Not because they can’t leave. But because leaving would mean questioning who they believe themselves to be. And that feels frankly terrifying. In this conversation we talk about: • What the sunk cost fallacy really is and why it’s so powerful • Why high-performing women are particularly vulnerable to this psychological trap • The hidden identity cost of staying loyal to old decisions • Why “I’ve invested too much to leave now” is one of the most dangerous thoughts you can have • The difference between history-led decisions and future-led decisions • Why reinvention doesn’t require blowing up your life • How to recognise when you’re settling rather than choosing • The one powerful question that can change the trajectory of your life This episode is not about blowing up your marriage, quitting your job or making reckless decisions. It’s about recognising when a chapter has finished. Honouring the woman who built it. And consciously deciding who leads next. Because you are not obligated to stay loyal to a decision made by a younger version of you. Work With Me 👑 If this episode stirred something in you and you’re ready to move from history-led decisions to future-led reinvention, this is exactly the work I do with women inside my private one-to-one coaching. Identity reconstruction. Energy recalibration. Strategic reinvention. Clean decisions. Clear boundaries. A life designed on purpose. Send me a message if you want to explore working together.
