EP156 Are You Scared of Failure… or Being Seen Trying?

Send us Fan Mail What if you’re not actually scared of failing? What if you’re scared of people seeing you try... and then watching it not work? Because I think there’s actually quite a big difference. Failing privately is one thing. Abso-f*cking-lutely. But, saying out loud I want this, putting your hand up, launching the thing, changing career, starting the business, writing the book, going after the stage, dating again or admitting that you want something more... and then letting people WATCH you go for it? That’s a whole other level of vulnerability. And I think this becomes particularly uncomfortable when you’ve spent years being known as the competent and successful powerhouse. The woman who knows exactly what she’s doing. Because reinvention has an annoying habit of turning experts back into beginners. Suddenly you don’t know all the answers. You’re learning really bloody publicly. You might post something nobody engages with. Launch something that doesn’t sell. Apply and get rejected. Change your mind. Get something spectacularly wrong. And other people might see it. In this episode of The Reinvention Era, I’m talking about the fear underneath the fear of failure. The fear of judgement, embarrassment and what an unsuccessful attempt might mean about you. I’m talking about why potential can feel so bloody safe, because nobody can criticise something you never actually tried. Why perfectionism can sometimes be fear with a crown on. Why we create imaginary judging panels full of old colleagues, exes, friends, family and random women on Instagram who probably aren’t thinking about us at all. And why identity reinvention requires something most of us don't talk about enough: the willingness to be seen becoming a beginner again. Because you can journal to the endth degree about your next identity. Visualise her. Create the vision board. Work out what she believes, wears, wants and tolerates. But eventually? She has to leave the f*cking house. She has to make the decision. Ask for the money. Post the post. Apply for the thing. Say no. Say yes. Launch. Leave. Begin again. Tell somebody what she actually wants. That’s when identity design becomes real. I’m also sharing what this has looked like for me while very publicly building my first Be You Now event, with absolutely no ability to control the final outcome. Maybe the goal isn’t to become so confident that you know you’ll succeed. Maybe confidence is being willing to say: I want this. I believe in this. I’m going for it. Even when you have absolutely no f*cking guarantee about how it ends. Because yes, some things won't work. Somebody might judge you. You might change your mind. You might occasionally look like a bit of a dick. But the alternative is keeping your potential pristine, untouched and safely wrapped in plastic while your actual life passes by. Let them see you try. They get an opinion. They don't get a vote. Buy a ticket for Be You Now by 25th August 2026 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP155 The Identity Required to Play a Bigger Game

Send us Fan Mail We all love the idea of playing a bigger game don’t we? The bigger business. The book. The stage. The visibility. The opportunities. The money. The impact. We put it on the vision board, write down the goals and decide we're bloody well going for it. And then the game actually starts. Suddenly there are other people on the board. Decisions you weren't expecting. Rejection. Uncertainty. Things going wrong. Opportunities arriving at spectacularly inconvenient times. Bills that apparently require the GDP of a small country. And the identity that was perfectly capable of handling the life you had is suddenly being asked to handle a life she's never lived before. That's where the real identity work begins. In this episode of The Reinvention Era, I'm talking about what it actually takes to play a bigger game when you can't control how the game unfolds. I'm also sharing what happened during a recent HorsePower VIP day with Jenni Winter-Leach, where a few horses gave me a rather confronting demonstration of something I talk about all the time: Leadership isn't something you announce. It's something that's felt. We talk about: Why growth often exposes the identity that created your previous successThe difference between control and self-leadershipWhy high-performing women can be brilliant at leading everyone except themselvesWhat horses taught me about congruence, trust and outsourcing our certaintyWhy your old coping strategies can get LOUDER as your world expandsThe high-functioning trap of being busy, useful, perfect and indispensableWhy increased capacity doesn't mean learning to tolerate more shitThe difference between urgency and importanceWhy your Designed Self can't come with evidence, because she's never existed beforeAnd the one question to ask when you're overwhelmed by everything happening on the board: What's my next move?Because the Queen might be the most powerful piece on the chessboard. But none of that power means a damn thing while she's sitting safely in the box. At some point, you've got to get in the f*****g game. BE YOU NOW If this episode feels uncomfortably familiar, this is exactly the conversation we're taking into the room at Be You Now: The Identity Reinvention Event for Founders & Business Owners. 📍 Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge 📅 Friday 4th September 2026 This isn't another day about cramming more strategies into your already-overloaded brain. We're talking identity. Leadership. Visibility. Systems. Self-trust. The people around you. The decisions you're making. What you've outgrown and who your life and business actually need you to be now. No weird cliquey networking bollocks. Come on your own. Come without having it all figured out. Come as you are. Get off the sidelines. Get on the board. 🎟️ Get your ticket here Join my email list And if you'd like details about Jenni Winter-Leach's HorsePower VIP experiences, drop me a message and I'll connect you with her. 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP154 Have We Forgotten How To Feel Alive? | With Sally Berg of Mature Eros

Send us Fan Mail What if the biggest thing missing from your life isn't confidence, motivation or another morning routine... What if you've simply become disconnected from yourself? In this powerful conversation, I'm joined by the brilliant Sally Berg, founder of Mature Eros, embodiment mentor and self-proclaimed Queen of Pleasure. Together we explore what happens when high-achieving women spend years leading everyone else while slowly losing connection with their own bodies, boundaries and joy. This absolutely is NOT a conversation about sex. It's a conversation about aliveness. About nervous system regulation. About why so many women in midlife feel exhausted, disconnected and stuck in survival mode, and why the way back isn't through doing more, but through reconnecting with yourself. We also explore why menopause might not be a malfunction to manage, but a metamorphosis to embrace. In this episode we discuss: • Why so many high-achieving women become disconnected from their bodies. • The surprising link between stress, cortisol and many of the symptoms we blame on menopause. • Why pleasure has very little to do with sex and everything to do with feeling fully alive. • The impact of decades spent pushing, performing and putting everyone else first. • How nervous system regulation changes the way we lead, love and live. • Why women don't need to become stronger... they need to become softer within themselves. • The connection between identity, embodiment and self-abandonment. • How simple daily practices can help you reconnect with yourself. One of my favourite moments in this conversation is when Sally says: "Women don't need to become stronger. For f**k's sake, we're strong enough." I couldn't agree more. Whether you're navigating perimenopause, menopause, rebuilding after burnout or simply wondering why life feels flat despite everything you've achieved, this episode is an invitation to stop pushing and start listening to the wisdom your body has been trying to share all along. Resources mentioned ✨ Sally's free Revive & Restore Embodied Meditation 📱 Follow Sally on Instagram  If this conversation resonated with you, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaway. And if you're a woman who's realised you've spent years leading everyone else while forgetting to lead yourself, you'll probably love what we're building inside the Queen of Reinvention community too. EP153 The Room You're In Is Creating Your Future

Send us Fan Mail This week on the Reinvention Era, we're talking about something that most people completely overlook... The rooms you choose. And I’m not just talking about the physical spaces, but also the conversations, the people, the energy and the standards you surround yourself with every day. Because those things are never neutral. They either reinforce the identity you've always had or they invite you into the woman you're capable of being. In this episode I share what happened after hosting a private dinner with some incredible female business owners, why abundance always beats competition, and why your environment has a bigger influence on your future than another morning routine ever will. We also dive into: • Why identity is contagious. • How your environment subtly shapes your decisions. • Why some people become really damn uncomfortable when you grow. • The difference between changing your habits and changing your identity. • Why the right conversations can completely change what's possible for your life. • How to become intentional about the rooms you choose. If you've been feeling stuck, uninspired or like you've outgrown the people around you, this episode might explain why. Remember... You don't find yourself. You design her. Ready for a different room? If you'd love to experience this in real life, I'd absolutely love you to join us at Be You Now, my live identity reinvention event in London on 4 September 2026. It's a day designed to challenge your thinking, introduce you to incredible humans and remind you what's possible when you're surrounded by people who see your future instead of your past. And if you're worried about coming on your own, please message me. I'll make sure you're looked after. Some of the best conversations start because you were brave enough to walk into the room. If you have any questions BEFORE 5 August - on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at 7.30 BST I’m hosting a Zoom Room to go all in on behind the scenes. EP152: You’re Brilliant at Leading Everyone… Except Yourself

Send us Fan Mail You lead your team. Your house. Your clients. Your family. Your children. Sometimes, it feels like you’re leading every bloody person you come into contact with (even if you don't actually know them!) But when was the last time you properly led yourself? In this week’s episode, I’m talking about the subtle leadership crisis so many capable, high-achieving people don’t even realise they’re in. Because there’s a HUGE difference between managing yourself and leading yourself. You can manage your diary, your inbox, your deadlines and everybody else’s expectations while completely abandoning the person underneath it all. And the most dangerous part? Survival doesn’t always look like struggling. Sometimes it looks organised, productive, respected and incredibly successful. It just also looks f*cking exhausted. In this episode, I explore: Why high achievers become brilliant at copingThe difference between self-management and self-leadershipHow success can disguise survivalWhy your business can’t outgrow the identity leading itThe question I return to whenever life gets difficult: Who do I choose to be?Why leadership eventually has to come home to youI also share some very exciting news. Tickets are officially on sale for: Be You Now The Identity Reinvention Event for Founders & Business Owners Taking place on Friday 4 September 2026 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge, this is a full-day live event for founders, business owners and leaders who know their next level requires more than another strategy. Because your business won’t outgrow your confidence, courage, standards, visibility or willingness to make difficult decisions. Eventually, every business bumps into the identity of the person leading it. Book your ticket here And while you’re here, come and find me: Instagram LinkedIn Facebook         Website The question I want you to sit with after this episode is: Where have I become so busy leading everyone else that I’ve forgotten to lead myself? Because the greatest act of leadership isn’t leading a team. It’s refusing to abandon yourself while you’re doing it. And you do not have to stay who you’ve always been. EP151: You Can't Build a Successful Business by Abandoning Yourself | with Nikola Howard

Send us Fan Mail Most women don't burn out because they're weak (even though that’s quite often how we end up feeling when we do). It’s actually that most of us burn out because we've been taught that success means pushing harder, saying yes more often and putting ourselves last. In this episode, I sit down with award-winning health-led business coach Nikola Howard to unpack why the very habits we've been applauded for are often the ones slowly destroying our health, our businesses and our lives. Together we explore what happens when ambition collides with chronic illness, menopause, decision fatigue and hustle culture, and why looking after yourself isn't a luxury.  It's one of the smartest business strategies you'll ever adopt. From eating lunch properly to building better boundaries, this conversation is packed with practical ideas that will help you create success you can actually sustain. In this episode we talk about: • Why hustle culture was never designed with women in mind • The hidden cost of skipping lunch, living on caffeine and constantly pushing through • How your health affects your decision making, creativity and leadership • Why so many women abandon themselves in the pursuit of success • The identity shift from employee thinking to business owner thinking • Boundaries, people pleasing and why "No, thank you" really is a complete sentence • Decision fatigue and simple ways to reduce the mental load • Building a business around your energy instead of forcing yourself into someone else's schedule • The surprising connection between nutrition, productivity and better business decisions • Why joy isn't the reward for success. It should be part of the journey. Memorable moments "Lunch is the best business decision you can make." "If your business is killing you, something needs to change." "No, thank you is a complete sentence." "You cannot give from an empty cup." "Success feels like joy." If you've ever believed that exhaustion is simply the price of ambition, this episode might completely change the way you think about success. EP150: The Hardest Year of My Life... And Why I'd Do It Again

Send us Fan Mail "This isn't the story of the year everything finally worked out. It's the story of the year I stopped waiting for it to" A year ago, I thought I was redesigning my business. I wasn't. I was redesigning the woman leading it. Over the last twelve months I've broken my arm, needed major surgery, battled a post-operative infection, left a job I'd spent years building, closed a community I absolutely loved, written my first book, published a journal, invested thousands into mentors, planned my biggest live event yet... and somehow still turned up here every single Friday. This isn't an episode about having it all figured out. It's about what reinvention really looks like when life refuses to stick to your plan. Because the truth is, reinvention isn't glamorous. It's f*cking messy. It's uncomfortable. It's full of waiting rooms, wobbling confidence and wondering whether you've completely lost the plot. But it's also where the most extraordinary version of your life begins. If you've ever found yourself saying... "I'll do it when..." ...when work calms down. ...when the kids are older. ...when I have more money. ...when I feel more confident. ...when life gets easier. This episode is for you. Inside this episode, we explore: ✨ Why reinvention starts long before your circumstances change. ✨ The hardest thing I've had to let go of (and it wasn't my job). ✨ Why your Survival Self deserves gratitude... but shouldn't be running your life. ✨ What breaking my arm taught me about identity. ✨ Why certainty is overrated. ✨ The surprising gift hidden inside one of the hardest years of my life. ✨ The one question that completely changed how I make decisions. Because maybe the question isn't... "When can I start?" Maybe it's... Who's leading? If this episode resonates with you, I'd love it if you'd share it with another woman who's standing at a crossroads right now. And if you've been with me for one episode or all 150... Thank you  This really does feel like the beginning of something even bigger. 👑 🔥 DOWNLOAD FREEBIES TO FUEL YOUR REINVENTION 📲 FOLLOW on Instagram and Facebook 🩷

EP149: Why "I'm Becoming Her" Might Be the Most Comfortable Lie You Tell Yourself

Send us Fan Mail Why "I'm Becoming Her" Might Be the Most Comfortable Lie You Tell Yourself  On language, money scripts and the identity you're building every time you open your mouth This week's episode came together from about four different places, and I'm not going to pretend it didn't. But it's also all kind of about the same thing: the words we use, the identities they're subtly building, and the very comfortable trap hiding inside one of the words we use most in this space. I start the episode talking about my VIP day with the brilliant Sue Jones-Miranda, human design queen and someone who has this unsettling ability to see straight through you in the best possible way. I'd been doing all the things, finishing the book, planning the September event, pushing forward on every front at once, and I could feel the burnout highway starting to appear on the horizon. The day with Sue brought me back to myself, back to what actually lights me up, writing and in-person connection, and reminded me that even when this is what you teach, it can be genuinely hard to see it in yourself. Then a few days later, at a property investing event of all places, a stranger said something to me that stopped me in my tracks. I'd casually said, more than once, that I'm financially illiterate. And he looked at me and said, quite gently but quite directly: well, that's the problem, isn't it. The way you're speaking about it. And he was completely right. In the episode I get into why that landed so hard, including the inheritance of that language from childhood, my dad's obsession with pensions, the rebellious kid in me who switched off, and the years of financial abuse in my marriage that reinforced an identity around money I've been carrying ever since. It was one of those moments where you realise a script is still running the show long after the circumstances that created it are gone. Which brings me to Abracadabra and why that is literally a magic word. And then there's the word I think we all need to be a lot more careful with.  Becoming. On the surface, it sounds like exactly the right word for this work. And in some ways it is. We need the vision. We need to know who we want to become. But becoming lives in the future tense, and the future tense is a very comfortable place to park your dreams indefinitely. Becoming, left unchecked, turns into permission to wait. It becomes a polite, socially acceptable way of saying later, babe. The shift I talk about in this episode isn't to stop having the vision. It's to stop letting her live permanently in the future tense and bring her into the now. Not become her eventually. Be her now. There's a difference, and it's everything. I close on the difference between predictability and possibility, and why so many of us choose the devil we know over the woman we're actually capable of being. Certainty isn't coming. But trust? That's available right now. In this episode: Why I nearly burnt out again and what a VIP day with Sue Jones-Miranda reminded me about coming back to myselfThe moment a stranger at a property event called out exactly what my language was building in real timeFinancial abuse, inherited money scripts and the identities we carry long after the circumstances are goneAbracadabra: I create as I speak, and what that actually means for the words you're using every dayThe trap inside the word "becoming" and why it might be keeping your dream permanently in the future tensePredictability versus possibility, and why trust is the only currency that actually matters hereMentioned in this episode: The EDIT Your Life Journal, available on Amazon now in paperback and hardback If this episode landed for you, please share it with the woman in your life who needs to hear it.
