The Dream Freaks | Shadow Work II | Ep 013

During this time of global crisis we can feel a stirring within ourselves of inner crisis. It can highlight our Inner demons, skeletons in the closet, past wounds and the darker side of our personalities. These are all words for the shadow. The wounded aspect of ourselves that are instinctive, irrational and prone to psychological projection in which a perceived personal inferiority is recognized as a perceived moral deficiency in someone else. At times we experience subtle versions of our shadow. During times of crisis we can feel consumed and somehow possessed by it. But for the most part we are completely unconscious of our shadow. From a collective point of view, it can seem as though our world is in crisis because of a lack of consciousness. We turn a blind eye, ignore or bury it deeply within us. It’s mere existence evokes emotions of guilt, shame or fear so when the reminder of our dark side is triggered, our automatic response is to repress it and lock it away in a tightly packed away box. However, navigating, experiencing and owning our shadow side is a vital part of our expansion of consciousness, individually and as a collective. Welcome to The Collective Shadow: where we will explore the darker aspects of not only ourselves but also the collective unconscious in order to heal, evolve and transcend.

If we reflect upon the great timeline of human history, we can see that it is accented with great monumental moments. From the invention of the wheel, through to the construction of the great pyramids moving forward through countless wars and pestilence onto great feats of science and technology. Some of these monumental moments have been groundbreaking, others have been tragic. But whether or not such moments have brought about happiness or grief, they all have one thing in common: they are catalysts for great change. As human beings caught up in these events, it forces us to evolve and we find ways to adapt. Now, in the great timeline of human history, we once again find ourselves thrust into an age of uncertainty: COVID 19. Part of the current navigation of COVID 19 is the theme of self isolation. The world is keeping still and insular. How can we learn from this situation? How can we adapt and evolve in a positive way?
