    Kiss From A Rosé

Recorded 7/11/2023 This episode in unsurprisingly named after THIS song. *as a music nerd, it's endlessly wild that this medeival tinged r&b pop song was allowed to happen in the mid 90's. It rules....BAaaYbaaaY!* We riff on pronunciations of LA streets and neighborhoods, which takes us to trying to remember the term Semantic Satiation.  We also return for a bit to the topic of "Day Zero", and Leyla pitches getting some summer sobriety reps in before the stresses of fall/winter family times. Here's a little explainer on Russ' mention of the gregarious info gatherer: Mavens as per Malcolm Gladwell's 'The Tipping Point' I know ya'll were EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT for this fact-check, but, the Sun Tea does NOT absorb/prvide vitamin D,  we do, however, have a link for a Green Tea ice cubes for facial skincare.  which sounds LOVELY! So both Brady and Russ were mostly right about Pineapples and swingin'. Apparently the upside down pineapple is the traditional signal to others in "the lifestyle", but it's gotten a bit looser. There was mention of how Weird Al typically gets permission for his parodies even though he doesn't need to under strict parody/fair use copyright law: a concise explainer on Fair Use as it pertains to Parody Here's just a lil bonus cutie n/a French 75 recipe because that cocktail offhandedly came up. *********** For today's tasting, we had a great time sampling the full range from Prima Pavé I think it's safe to say this was hands down, maybe, one of Leyla's favorite tastings to date. *********** Use our code "dryrun15" for 15% off at checkout at: JAS  ready to drink non-alcoholic "Paloma Libre" Three Spirit NA elixers and alt-wines

    Anyway, Here's Wonderwall

Brady shares a timeline of the band Oasis before heading off to see one of the fiesty Mancs.  (but here's an EVEN-MORE-ABSURDLY-DEEP dive) I thought I'd find better answers as to the origin, but here's a history of the Anyway, Here's Wonderwall meme. The Songsmith version Wonderwall seems to have been fully scrubbed from the internet, but here's a couple examples that live on and demonstrate just how silly/awesome it was and I hope you can now IMAGINE Wonderwall as a techno track: Nirvana's In Bloom, Motorhead's Ace Of Spades, Beastie Boys' Interglactic .  We pledge fielty to the Desert Princess (coronation Save-The-Date to follow). On a more serious note, Leyla reflects on her 1 year sober birthday and shares her sober story. If you're reading this, you should thank her for that.  I'd assumed carrot sticks for smoking cessation was a more ubiquitous concept than it turns out to be, but here's what I found anyway. Brady and Russ vibe out on sitting in with Jeremy and the Harlequins to play music together for the first time in years and handling the temptation of walking into a "fully stocked" green room. Our tasting this week was the Mezcal offering from Drink Monday with a bit of the DHOS Orange Curacao for the final cocktail. Here's -The "Spicy Harlequita"- -2oz Monday Mezcal -1oz DHŌS Orange Curacao -.5oz Lime Juice -.25oz Agave -.5mL All the Bitter Orange bitters Use our code "dryrun15" for 15% off at checkout at: JAS  ready to drink non-alcoholic "Paloma Libre" Three Spirit NA elixers and alt-wines You can follow us on instagram at: @thedryrunpodcast @thebeverageslut @thebeveragejunkie and @rustyfawkes You can also reach us by email at thedryrunpod@gmail.com with any questions, guest, topic, or product suggestions.
