Heather Zara is the owner and CEO of Zara Creative, a Detroit-based video production studio that helps forward-thinking brands make meaningful connections with their audiences. As an observer of the human experience, Heather has built her career upon the pillars of creativity and communication while letting her passions and curiosity lead the way. With over 22 years of experience, this award winning storyteller has interviewed inspiring humans like Martha Stewart, Kobe Bryant, Michael Strahan, John Varvatos, LeBron James and more. Stories have the power to heal, shape and transform our lives, and Heather has made it her life’s work to tell those stories. Before starting Zara Creative in June of 2011, Heather was a TV reporter and anchor for nearly a decade. She was mostly recognized for her on-air work with WDIV-TV Local 4 – the NBC station in Detroit – and also reported for MSU Athletics, The Detroit Pistons on Fox Sports Detroit and delivered sports updates on WWJ and 97.1 The Ticket. Heather is now a progressive business leader focused on cultivating work environments that inspire the very best in people. Not only is Heather a proud Detroit resident and spirited entrepreneur, she is also an avid traveler, a believer in meditation, a voracious reader, and a creator of content that stirs the human spirit.

Her background as a buyer in the fashion industry led her to pursue her education at Parsons and explore both design and business from a holistic, user-centered, and systems-thinking perspective. Nicole founded Capri to pay forward the financial education her late Aunt Lynn gave her in her teen years.
