    On our show today, how Elliot Choy built his Youtube empire within just a couple of months, from filling a need he found within the Youtube Community. A couple years ago, it’d be crazy to believe Youtubers today would accumulate worldwide success. Even today, you would really have to be one of the lucky few to reach the 100,000 subscriber mark for the coveted Youtube Silver Play button Plaque. Even fewer achieve that within a few months. What garner Youtubers success is creating truly stunning videos that is so conceptually unique, people have to click. And for Elliot Choy, he saw a problem with the lack of Youtube videos who cover the lives of a typical person on college campuses. Even when I was about to enter college, I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what I’d be getting into. For Elliot, he just started with one video, “A Day In My Life at Vanderbilt University” and from there, his channel has been climbing the ranks ever since.

    On our show today, how Brian Helfman strayed from a conventional path as a finance student, to become a consumer tech entrepreneur, and now, to the CEO and Founder of Startup Island, where they create meaningful experiences for other prospective entrepreneurs. Think about your ideal state in startup glory. You just IPO’d your tech startup, Uber for puppies or something, and your now sitting in the Bahamas bathing in wealth. Well, believe it or not, our next guest Brian Helfman really believed he was on that path. Brian was the CEO and Cofounder of TAABS, an app that curates the best bars and clubs in New York City. He was living the dream, partnering with hundreds of establishments and raising tons of VC funding. He honestly believed he would eventually take on and dominate Yelp and Google. However, a hard turn of events and a couple of years later, Brian found himself in a completely different space: creating experiences for prospective entrepreneurs with Startup Island. From tech entrepreneur to creating personal and professional development accelerators, Brian has found himself in a space that he not only loves, but believes he can dominate and work in for the rest of his life.

Remind yourself of your highschool days. Obnoxiously loud school bells, running from period to period, and the days of cramming weeks worth of work into a few hours. I couldn’t even imagine living on my own in those days. Recently, there has been a large rise of Gen Z marketers. Now, while it’s easy to just run some guy’s social media and call yourself a Gen Z marketer, these people are different. Truly great ones are young people who really have marketing down to a science. They understand how to create marketing messages and ads that stand out amongst all the noise of today’s digital age. And when deployed in a startup or enterprise, they can really make a large difference. Today’s guest found her breakthrough moment at, believe it or not, the age of 9 years old with her e-commerce brand. And as you may have guessed by now, she dropped out of highschool at the age of 16 and now runs a marketing agency and is the founder of the startup PBJ app.
