The Engineering Commons Podcast

Kudos to the creators of this podcast, who pack every episode with engaging content of great relevance to both students and practicing engineers. I especially appreciate the emphasis given to soft skills and contexts in which engineering is practiced. My only suggestion would be to add a host or two that represent the chemical and perhaps industrial disciplines, as the expertise here is a bit weighted to the electrical end. Also, as an educator working to reach groups who are under-represented in the engineering profession, I’d like to hear a more diverse range of voices and discussion of issues related to diversity in the field. Keep up the good work!

I’m still a mechanical engineering student currently on a co-op in a torque converter manufacturing facility in Ohio. These guys are honest and insightful. Perfect for a long commute to work.

Theses details you guys talk about are really important. It primes the minds of engineering students to the reality of the engineering workforce, who might not have had the exposure opportunity in the first place. You also suggest ways it could be better, too! (As engineers do.) Thank you!
