This isn’t a podcast for enneagram beginners since they don’t go as in depth to the basic ideas but if you’ve got an 8 in your life, or you are an 8 even in your tri type this will be so helpful to you. I’m a 3w2 but I dabble in 8 a lot and it’s second in my tri type. When I first test to 8 I was in complete denial (go figure) so I’m slowly learning more about my 8ness and found myself relating so deeply to the hosts. Thanks for being vulnerable when it’s so challenging to do, you are helping many along their journey to self awareness.
Awesome podcast

This is the best podcast to learn about Enneagram 8’s. Another great podcast on the enneagram 8 with the tritype 873. Thanks, for creating the Enneagram 8 podcast. I am enjoying the interviews with different tritypes. Keep up the great work, Jo and Erin. Hopefully, you will interview an 835 Tritype, which is my Tritype.

Personally thought asking for donations in the intro was a turn off. Not for me
echo chamber?

This was helpful to understand some enneagram 8s in my life. Also cringey and triggering to listen to at times, and because there are no other numbers represented on the episodes I’ve listened to, there’s obviously a big 8 bias. As we know, 8s are not always objective about themselves or others. i.e. in the “tougher than you” episode intro , “I’m beginning to see where my strength ends and someone else’s begins…where my flexing stops benefiting someone else and just starts to make them feel small.” And hoooley heck if this isn’t one of my primary irritations with 8s. This statement is SO self-centered. When does their flexing benefit anyone or anything besides their own ego? Furthermore, the assumption that their flexing results in others’ poor self-esteem is continually affirming their desire to come out on top. Yes, you can make people feel small, but that is not the primary result. The direct result is that you are drawing a neon circle around your insecurities and your constant need for affirmation. You make yourselves look desperate. You think it makes you look strong, but it actually makes you look really weak. Being nearly incapable of recognizing others’ merits is not cool or tough. Lifting others up and being able to celebrate others is strength. Obviously I’m projecting hurt from the 8s in my life and I have never met the people in this podcast. I also appreciate learning more about the life experiences and other factors that shape 8s. Just wanted to share a different point of view on the tough act. It’s great to find self-acceptance, but there’s always room for growth.
